Hi Can anyone offer any advice please as i cannot figure it out at all. Currently we have a form which allows the user to upload images creates a DTMLDocument called PageText and it also creates a folder to store them in, all in one go. ZPT equivalent to the global HTML() ?

Hello, I have a few products that use DTML rendering by simply using the HTML function imported from Globals ... This works great, and is trivial and simple to use. Now, I'm thinking of switching to using ZPT's, but am having a harder time figuring out exactly what function/method I should use ... there's pt_render, but that's a method that expects an object of the proper class to be passed (I think?) ... Which doesn't really work in my case ... I'd like to be able to simply feed the "text" to a function, along with a context, REQUEST object, or something like that, and get the results. Here's what I had up until now, that I'd like to switch from DTML to ZPT: # Monkey patch to add DTML rendering and Properties to the CMF Document type (Effectively making it a CMF DTML Document) originalCookedBody = Document.CookedBody originalManageOptions = Document.manage_options def CookedBody(self, stx_level=None, setlevel=0): # First, run the original cookedbody = originalCookedBody(self, stx_level=None, setlevel=0) # Then, if the document is HTML, run it through the DTML rendering engine if ( self.text_format == 'html' ): cookedbody = apply(HTML(self.text), (self, self.REQUEST)) return cookedbody Document.CookedBody = CookedBody Document.manage_options = ( originalManageOptions + PropertyManager.manage_options ) This is really simple, and works great for my needs. POSKeyError

Hello-- A couple of weeks ago, an IDE error caused some minor damage to my Data.fs file. Unfortunately, there had been some significant changes to that file since the previous weekly backup, so I did not want to restore from backup. I used the fsrecover.py utility to recover the damaged Data.fs with great results. A few folders inside Data.fs did have problems, but all of them were corrected by exporting and importing the damaged folder and just re-importing it . . . except for one. With this one folder, I get a POSKeyError. After researching this problem online, I used the fsrefs.py utility to determine which object it is that's not being found, but I can't figure out how to either a) get that object back (since I can't access the management screens due to the error) or b) remove the invalid references. I have seen some references to truncating (a copy of) the Data.fs just before the transaction that causes the error, but I haven't found any instructions on how to do this. So, is there any good way to fix this by either replacing the object or deleting the invalid transaction? Thanks, Jeremy. -- Jeremy M. Using urllib2 to access Zope URLs

I'd like to write a script that I can run from the command line -- NOT a Python script object in Zope or even an external method -- that I can run to upload files into Zope. Here's some code that I'm using right now that, according to the documentation and examples I've seen for the urllib2 library, OUGHT to work: -------------------- import urllib2 pwdmgr = urllib2.HTTPPasswordMgrWithDefaultRealm() pwdmgr.add_password(None, 'http://localhost:8080/", 'myusername', 'mypassword') auth = urllib2.HTTPBasicAuthHandler(pwdmgr) opener = urllib2.build_opener(auth) urllib2.install_opener(opener) req = urllib2.Request('http://localhost:8080/manage_main') f = urllib2.urlopen(req) print f.read() f.close() -------------------- The line with the urlopen command always raises an error, however: urllib2.HTTPError: HTTP Error 401: Unauthorized The same script has no trouble obtaining the results of queries to unprotected sites, but seems completely incapable of getting past the Zope authorization. FYI: Tests with the wget utility show that it is possible to get past the authorization, so the problem lies somewhere with this script. What is it that I'm missing? --Damon

Hello, zope users. Can you tell me what i need to do if i want for example to store on filesystem 'File' content type from Plone? (i tried but it works for me only with Zope 'File'). I think there is an error in the file that fails to import - bad indentation or something simple like that. That is usually what causes failed imports, and I notice that you usually do not get a helpful error message to tell you that. Also, it would be a good idea to stop Zope and restart it after making whatever changes, just in case (I am not sure about whether you need to do this with products, but it would be worth trying). I try to make all my modules self-checking using a __main__ routine, just so I can make sure they really compile and run, including all the imports. Makes life much simpler. Cheers, Tom P

ODBC + Linux

Hi, first thanks to everyone who helped with the matter. Secondly, I would like to report on the two solutions we find to make a Zope on Linux talk to a SQL-Server-2000 DB on W2K: 1)Using freeTDS we wrote a shell script that is called by a Python script,saves the query results to a tmp file that is read into a string object and finally rendered. The problem is the number of IO operations in highly usage environments. 2)Using ZDataQuery + ODBC socket server on W2K Some remarks: we expect some hundreds queries a day, no updates on the DB. First, I realized I did not need profile.py so I removed that line of code. What you say about not importing directories makes sense. However the following doesn't: My Structure has the following -FGDC (directory) - __init__.py - profile.py - DISTRIB.py The line I had that read from Products.Resources.FGDC import profile failed as you said it should. However, this line works like a charm: from Products.Resources.FGDC import DISTRIB BTW, I always interpreted this to mean from <directory> import <module> Can you explain the *why's* on this one?? Even though I can move forward with my coding, my mind is still stuck on why this is?
