Hi, you could use the following patch: http://www.zope.org/Members/shh/ReplaceSupport I haven't tested it because I don't know if it works with the last zope and I think that the long and boring way is safer: 1- Use the find tab from the ZMI to get the documents with the desired string 2- Open each document with ExternalEditor 3- Use search and replace of your favorite text editor I think that implementing a Search and Replace support is dangerous because once you do the change, it's difficult to know where it was excecuted. But it's up-to-you to make this decision. Regards, Josef

I don't have your source code. What version of Zope are you running? 2.6.1 or greater should do zcatalog sorts faster than previous zope versions, and 2.7 beta should be faster still (I have not tried 2.7). telnetlib script help

Hi, I'm fair-to-middlin' with Perl and have no Python knowledge. I'm trying to do a Python script which grabs some information from a telnet interface on the same machine: import sys import telnetlib HOST = "localhost" tn = telnetlib.Telnet(HOST, 9090) tn.write("title ?\n") tn.write("album ?\n") tn.write("artist ?\n") tn.write("exit\n") print tn.read_all() That works from the command line (well, I'll be figuring out how to regex-prettify the output later), but doesn't work from Zope: I've enabled import of sys and telnetlib, but it now pops up auth dialogs repeatedly. Hitting cancel makes it say " Error Value: You are not allowed to access write in this context". What am I doing wrong? [Zope product] How to register an icon for an abstract superclass ?

Hi all, I aim to have a ZMI icon shared by many classes who inherit from the same superclass. As I didn't want those class appear in the ZMI "add object" choice list, I didn't register them in the .init file. Well, how to register only the icon in association with the superclass, without registering constructors ? Sinclair

PostgreSQL data base adapters recommendation.

Hi there: We have been using Zope+PostgreSQL for some time. Started using PoPy, later on PyGRES and currently we run on Psycopg. It was recently announced that PyGRES and PoPy will be merged into one project and, this project will (actually IS) hosted within the PostgreSQL development. Question is, in your overall experience what is the best DataBase adaptor to use in Zope for PostgreSQL. ? We will start developing our application routines directly in Python as Zope products, nevertheless, we are interested in accesing a DA connection created directly within the Zope Management Interface, that is, just handling the actual SQL sentences from python sort of like this : myDAConnection.query("select * from... ") Has any of you done this ? If so, with which DA ? We are looking into this since handling the overall db connection, db opening cursors, reads, db close, etc. etc. within python would add some extra code and complexity into our application, rather than letting this to Zope. Any comments are welcome, thanks in advance and best regards. Edward.

A login page

Hey Zopers!!! I'm a newbie in this excellent package and I need some help. I'm trying to do a simple login page (username and password text fields and a button) that enable or disable the navigation into a Zope project. This mean that if you didn't login you can't be able to surf the project. This sound easy to do but I can't do it :-( Is out there somebody who can help me??? I'll appreciate your suggestions.
