Delete value from REQUEST

Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but either way I'd realy appreciate some help! I have a problem deleting a value "theClient" from REQUEST. The value is set initially using: <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.setCookie('theClient',whatever_value)"> I found some time ago this little external method posted by Daryl Tester: =========================================================== def removeRequest(REQUEST, item): "Remove an item from a REQUEST.form" try: del REQUEST.form[item] except: pass return None =========================================================== This obviously did not work straight away for this particular item, since it was in the cookies section of REQUEST, so I changed it to del REQUEST.cookies[item]. (Please bear with any ignorance I may have displayed here). This initially appears to work fine. I call the external method from within a page, and then view REQUEST while still on the same page, and theClient has disappeared. However, if I subsequently go to any other page it is still there. I have tried RESPONSE.expireCookie(item) in the external method, and Zope didn't seem to appreciate that! What am I doing wrong? TIA Ashley

Global Variables

Is there a way to declare a global variable in Zope? And is there a way to declare a variable that is available for an entire session? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. - Asad

DTMLFile usage

Hello zope, I don't understand why the zope render some objects, and not render others. I have been used an minimal product to test it: When I write this: class .... .... def index_html(self): "used to view content of the object" import Globals df=Globals.DTMLFile('www/index',globals()) return df Zope is not rendering the result. When I write this: class .... .... import Globals index_html=Globals.DTMLFile('www/index',globals()) Zope is rendering my dtml file in correct way. So: if I do same things, zope why don't do same results ??? ZopeTestCase

The problem is that if I access to those objects using self.app, I get the old version of the object, but I get the updated version using self._app(). I guess I'm missing something with both problem... Any idea ? Minimal product refresh ?

How to I use this product in my site ? I try with this: a.) I've been create an object of the product minimal in the zope's root. b.) FileUpload, MySQL, Zope ZSQL problem

Tried finding an answer to this question but I can't. I'm trying to upload pictures to a MySQL database with the normal conditions: <input type="file" name="picture1"> enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" My ZSQL method has the following DTML: <dtml-var expr=picture1.data> I've also tried the same thing with dtml-sqlvar using type=string. I'm always greeted with the following error whenever I feel I'm going to make a breakthrough: FileUpload instance has no attribute 'data' removing the ".data" section gives me: <ZPublisher.HTTPRequest.FileUpload instance at 0x932c35c> as the entry for that particular field. Is it possible?????? Am I trying the impossible??? if not... how can I make it possible to get these pictures into this database. (i'm starting to lose my cool on this computer). Thanks for any help. If it's not possible I guess I'll have to bloat my Object Database rather than my relational databse. Quince Baltimore, MD.

Has anyone ever used fedex ship manager direct, to request rates and tracking info, etc...from fedex. I recently set up my account to do this but i keep getting 400 - Bad Request errors when i submit transactions. Below is the debug ouput from zope. I followed their manual to the letter, which includes having that strange content-type of image/gif when im only sending text. Its not a problem with the transaction itself, must be the headers or something. Shared zope.config file.

Running Zope-2.7.0-b4 on Linux using an NFS shared instance home, I'd like to share one config file on multiple Zope servers. Can I use a %define or something to create a `/bin/hostname` variable inside of the zope.conf so the lock, log, etc. files are unique? --Karl
