Zope 2.6.3 problem, Resend.

Hello all, I'm resending this because I didn't get a response and I'm not sure that the e-mail went through since I didn't see it posted on any of the lists. I'm having a serious problem. I'm running Zope 2.6.3, Plone 2.0RC3 and CMF1.4.2 The problem is that I can no longer go into the manage_edit form of the portal_types tool and add actions to any of the plone portal types. The error I get is listed below. Image problem

Hello I have added an image through the form as - <form action="createimage" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="text" name="id"> <input type="text" name="title"> <input type="file" name="file"> <input type="submit"> </form> this is processed by a script called "createimage" as in your forms method defined: ## Script (Python) "doupload" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace= ##bind script=script ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters=id, title, file ##title= ## context.Pictures.manage_addImage(id,title,file) ALTHOUGH - This does create the image in the Pictures folder. But the type in the context are 'application/octet-stream' and not as an image/jpeg as I need it to be. HOW can I identify the correct type for the file in the code please Many thanks Eva Rowe

Hello, I've compiled cyrus-sasl with ./configure --prefix=/usr --with-mysql=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/cyrus-sasl/ --disable-krb4 --disable-otp --enable-login --enable-sample=no --enable-sql=yes But sasl still looks in /usr/lib/sasl2/ for the smtpd.conf. How can I make it looking in /etc/cyrus-sasl/? Thanks, Florian

Dreamweaaver MX 2004

My users have been using Dreamweaver 4 and Dreamweaver MX for some time now and just needed to set passive FTP and disable "Maintain Notes on Server" for them to work with Zope ftp. Now the "new and improved" Dreamweaver MX 2004 is not working with Zope. In the Dreamweaver Site I can connect and view the root directory but cannot change into any directories although the local log file says I did and the Z2.log says it was successfull to change to a directory. Looks like it tries to delete a directory it never tried to create '_mm' I assume mm is for Macro Media. The directory it does try to create is MM_CASETEST4291, could this be left over from debugging in the pre release code? Then it tries to remove dirctory mm_casetest4291 which under linux would be a different directory. Is anyone aware of a fix for this? Reporting in Zope

Many reporting tools are available to generate reports from SQL databases (Crystal comes to mind). Two of the gripes I have heard against object databases are: 1) They are hard to query (no powerful SQL like querying available - bound to what you defined in the catalog). 2) Creating reports are hard or there are no tools available (basically again a reporting problem). Is there something in Zope to (really quickly) create generic type reports on the attributes of objects. Eg. create a report where all the invoice objects' totals are above $100 and the invoice has not been paid yet. Yes, it's easy "to quickly write a script" to do it (for a programmer), but (so it was claimed) there are tools in SQL that would create the above query very quickly (5 minutes) and sometimes with drag and drop interfaces. Are there something like that for Zope and what is the "best of breed" query/reporting product/s available for Zope. Etienne

SSL annoyance

Hi, I've installed Zope 2.6.3 both on Win32 and Linux with several different configurations. Then I've added SSL support (ZServer+M2Crypto) When I upload or modify some file on the server it happens sometimes (not always but roughly one time each three attempts) that the connection "hangs", i.e. it waits forever without getting to a end. Often the file has been uploaded or modified correctly, just the browser doesn't recognise the transaction has ended. The server does not output any error except when I actively stop the connection: 2004-01-11T23:01:22 INFO(0) ZServer recv: closing channel <ZServer.HTTPS_Server.zhttps_channel connected 62.211.150.116:3897 at 0x19aad64 channel#: 1 requests:> (0, 'Error') Later I've installed Zope 2.7.0b4 again with SSL support. At this point the problem seems to show up only using IE, while using Netscape 7.1 everything goes fine. I've seen that the secure connection using Netscape goes with AES-256 while the one with IE goes with the standard 128 bit encryption. Any idea of why? I could put Apache in front of Zope but I've do not want to install Apache just for that. Thanks, Mario

error on creating Tutorial instance

Ah well, the "issues" keep on coming. I've got "The Book of Zope" from Beehive, and I'm running Zope 2.6.x from Debian "Sarge" distribution. Following the suggestions in the help menu, from within Zope, on how to install the Zope Tutorial, I'm presented with this error: "Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: The ZGadflyDA product must be installed!" What is the ZGadflyDA? I can't find a Debian package called that in my available list... If my questions are too elementary for this list, is their a Zope list, specifically for newbies? -- Stephen

Sorry folks, I figured it out. Turns out I was sending a Cache Control header elsewhere in the code. That was preventing IE from saving the file in it's temp internet files folder, and that's why "open" didn't open squat - the file never got cached... In hindsight it makes perfect sense... Thanks for the info regarding the nature of the bug. Unfortunately I can't change the URL for a few reasons. Also changing the disposition to "inline" from "attachment", didn't help either.
