data file keeps growing

I have the /Members folder of a CMF site mounted in its own separate ZODB called MemberData.fs. The file keeps growing at an alarming rate of about 400MB a day until it eventually reaches the 2GB limit them i get loads of MemberData.fs.trxxxx files There's no extra data explicitly being put into the member homes, if i go to pack database it reduces back to about 50MB Does anyone have the slightest clue what could be going on?!?!?!?!?

Copying site between Zope instances

Documentation on how to develop a product

I'm trying to learn how to implement a Zope product. I've found the BoringProduct. It's a good starter, but does not get me very far. I've also found the "Zope Developer's Guide (2.4 edition)" (at http://zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZDG/current) Is there anything else I can read that will help me learn how to develop a Zope Product? Thanks in advance for help and pointers. By the way, is the Developer's Guide still usable or used? It seems very old. It's full of comments and complaints that do not seem to have been addressed. Zope and IIS6.0 (Windows 2003 server)

Hi I try to use ASP404 script from hiperlogica I general it works fine except with the forms. The script lost any form variable and Zope never recive them I try to send an email to the Zope webpage email (in the article about ASP404) and I try to find the webpage from hiperlogica Has anyone solve this problem? THANKS!

Make check fails

Plone - links portlet

I realise that this is the Zope list and Plone is a seperate product but doesn't have a mailing list which I can easily access, so I'll ask a quick question if I may... I've done this in the past but can't figure it out any more. I want to insert a links slot on the left of a Plone screen. What do I need to add under Properties in the left_slots? I tried this but it isn't recognised:- here/portlet_links/macros/portlet Do these slot entries relate to files in the Products/CMFPlone directory? -- John

Zope.org - possible (small) data loss

During maintenance of the zope.org storage server, a zodb-pack-gone-wrong resulted in the need to restore the database from backup. As a result, any changes to zope.org during the half hour between 2004/11/12 02:00 EST and 02:30 EST were lost. Changes before 02:00 or after 02:30 are intact. Hopefully there were very few or no such changes. On the off chance that something of yours was lost, I can only offer my humblest apologies. Problem with %20 in Query String

Hi, I have Zope 2.7.2 and Plone 2.0.4 set up on a FreeBSD server via the ports system and I have a virtual host which I've configured like this in Apache 1.3: <VirtualHost 216.23.182.153:80> ServerName www.angleoslo.com ServerAlias angleoslo.com <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.angleoslo\.com [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^angleoslo\.com [NC] RewriteRule ^/(.*) - [L,F] RewriteRule ^/(.*) \ http://zope.tucu.net:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.angleoslo.com:80/ www.angleoslo.com/VirtualHostRoot/$1 [L,P] </IfModule> </VirtualHost> The problem is that if you go to the web page <http://www.angleoslo.com/> and click on an event in the calendar such as the one on 11/12/2004 the URL is the following: <http://www.angleoslo.com/search?review_state=published&start: date=2004-11-13%2000%3A00%3A00&start_usage=range:max&end:date=2004-11 -12%2000%3A00%3A00&end_usage=range:min> You'll notice that there are '%20' (instead of '+') in the query string. Apache chokes on this and returns a 400 error for a bad request. Getting the same URL from Zserver works just fine since it doesn't mind the '%20' in the query string. Does anyone know of a good way to set up a virtual host in such a way that this problem goes away? Thanks, Michael

Location of Zope instance

Is there a preferred location for a Zope instance? And if you have several Zope instances is there a suggested way of naming them? ie something like /var/zope/1 /var/zope/2 etc?... -- John
