How can I manage access to a zope server??? ATAudio 0.3.5 released - for handling MP3 files in your Plone site

The Plone4Artists project team is pleased to announce version 0.3.5 of ATAudio. New features - **Streaming via Zope**. Thanks to Christian Scholz (MrTopf), ATAudio now makes use of the file iterator support in Zope 2.7.2. - **Limit file size**. Thanks to Christian Heimes (Tiran), you can now limit the size of the uploaded MP3 files. - **ATAudioFolder - Container for audio files**. There is now a container which displays a track listing and a CD cover image. Bug fixes - **Better WebDAV support**. Thanks to Sidnei da Silva (dreamcatcher), the uploads from OS X to WebDAV are more reliable now. Existing features - **MP3 files stored on file system**. The files are not saved in the ZODB, but on the file system. This prevents database bloat and exposes the files to 3rd party streaming software. - **ID3 tag extraction**. When you upload an MP3 file via WebDAV, the metadata is extracted and auto-populates the fields on the Plone form. Stopping error messages in an external method

I've got a strange problem. It may not be Zope related but it only happens when my code is running under Zope. I'm using Win32com to create an OleDB connection to my database. (Don't ask why - it's a long story. Lets just say that MS SQL has problem working with remote tables when accessed through ODBC.) My routine executes a stored procedure step-by-step and displays the status of each step to the user. I'm returning the status with the RESPONSE.write method. This works great most of the time. I've noticed that if I put any print statements in my code that print to the standard device, it seems to confuse Zope. I've read that you want to either return a value from the external method or use RESPONSE.write but not both. I think the problem is that the OleDB execute method is printing an error message to the standard device. I'm using try:except: to trap any errors. When I run the code in the WingIDE, everything is fine. When I run it in Zope, it hangs when it hits the first error. I know the code hangs because I put some file write statements in the loop. When I run it under the debugger, I get a complete log. If I run it under Zope, the log ends when it hits the first error. Anyone know what I'm missing here? Thanks, Joe Goldthwaite

Adding a File Object to a LocalFS Object

Hello. I am trying to add a File object to a LocalFS object with id 'test'. I am able to detect the LocalFS object within the <dtml-in> and there is only one Local FS object in this particular parent Folder object. When the manage_addFile function call is executed, the File object is added to the parent Folder object instead of the contained Local FS object. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Python Script Trouble

I am having a problem with finding the uploaded fileSize. Currently whe I use the file.read() function when I view the contents of the file after it is uploaded it is blank. Perhaps, someone can see what I am doing wrong. Here is my code: # I am passing the uploaded file, title, id .... '--ignore-largefile' is not understood by Zope X3's configure. Does this imply largefile support in Python is required? -- John

I am writing a Python Script and I am trying to get the size of an uploaded file. Does anyone know what I should use? I thought that I could use len() but I was getting an error using it. Thanks. laura
