I've just tried installing Plone onto Zope v2.7.3 on Redhat and now Zope refuses to start. I get:- ImportError: No module named CMFFormController.ValidationError Any suggestions as to what I should do? -- John

Dear Zope Community, The Zope 3 development team is proud to announce Zope X3 3.0.0 final. After almost three years of development it has finally arrived! Zope X3 is the next major Zope release and has been written from scratch based on the latest software design patterns and the experiences of Zope 2. It features a strong through-the-web development model, allowing you to update your web site from anywhere in the world. To allow for this, Zope also features a tightly integrated security model. Built around the concept of "safe delegation of control", Zope's security architecture also allows you to turn control over parts of a web site to other organizations or individuals. strange session errors

Conflict error

Hello, yes I have read the Zope book about SESSIONs and the conflict errors. But the book says it should almost never happen, it happens constantly at my site (~10 users). I use Zope sessions. Any suggestions? I have sold in Zope to my boss, so my and Zopes reputation is on the line. Please help!!! zope startup script

When I originally installed Zope 2.6.2 a startup script was created in /etc/init.d, although I don't recall how it got created. Does v2.7.3 create a new version of this file when running make install? If not, how is it created? -- John

zope2.6.4/python2.2 doesn't restart after crash, with python2.1 it does

hello, we encounterd some problems with our zope 2.6.4 installation. if we put an instance under heavy load, it crashes and thus - according to event.log) tries to restart the server. zope 2.6.4 compiled with python2.1 does this very well, and is back after max. 1 minute. zope 2.6.4 compiled with python2.2 doesn't do this, in other words it fails. event.log tells me something like other processes are already accessing and thus locking the Data.fs. is this a known issue, are workarounds available? normally we use the debian packages for zope 2.6.4 which run zope with python2.2, but we just installed a source installation of zope 2.6.4 with python2.1 for debugging issues, and i realized this bug in python2.2 usage. i thought that zope 2.6.4 has official python2.2 suppport? bye jonas

How does Zope (v2.6.2) establish what constitutes ZOPE_HOME ? I don't see any reference for this variable in /etc/zope and wondered what I would need to change if I wanted to move Zope to a different location. -- John
