Hello, I realized that ZOPE converts all Tag's in page templates to lower case, e.g. <n1:Tag1>Abc</n1:Tag1> <n1:TagTag>Abc</t1:TagTag> is turned into <n1:tag1>Abc</n1:tag1> <n1:tagtag>Abc</t1:tagtag> ... all tags are now lower case. Are there any methods to avoid this behaviour? The workaround is to use python script with print statements, but that can't quite be the only solution, can it? Cheers, Hannes

upgrade 2.6 -> 2.7 authentication problem

I am upgrading a number of different things on my server and am having some troubles ... not quite sure where to look for a solution. The old server is FreeBSD-4.10 and Zope-2.6.1 behind apache using pcgi. The new system is FreeBSD-5.3. I got Zope-2.7.2 installed and copied over my Data.fs and Products from the old system. Now: I can view the site, but I cannot log in. I did not install pcgi this time, as that seems to have gone away. I was having some trouble getting the apache rewrite rules correct, so I am just running plain ZServer now. I am wondering if the pcgi gateway somehow modifies the authenitcation information ... so that I would need to be running pcgi again in order to get in. I tried doing "adduser" from the zopectl script, but that gave an error -- "resource not available..." tal expression

Hi will these be possible? <tal:b tal:define='dictionary python: {"value1": ["one", "two", "three"], "value2": "two", "value3": "three"}'> <tal:b tal:replace='python: dictionary["value1"][5] | "Value not available"' /> </tal:b> Obviously these is an incorrect tal expression (the replace one) but there are any way to create an expression like these and correct? Changing effective-user directive

I've just built and installed Zope 2.7.3 on Linux Redhat 7.3 using 'make instance' and when it comes to running zope with runzope there is an error msg which suggests that I change effective-user directive. What do I change it to? -- John

Upgrading Python and Zope

I'm intending to upgrade Zope from 2.6.2b3 to 2.7.3 but thought I might as well take the opportunity to upgrade Python from 2.2.2 to 2.3.4. Is there anything I need to watch out for? I notice that in the process of installing the latest Python it has installed in /usr/local/lib/python2.3 whereas 2.2.2 was installed in /usr/lib/python2.2, so whilst I have installed the latest Python, I haven't actually upgraded it. Should I reinstall it in /usr/lib? And how do I ensure that Zope is picking up the later version? -- John

Hiding ZMI Pages

Is there a way to keep users from being able to see any of the management pages? For example, return a 404 error if someone tries to go to http://zopesite/manage or http://zopesite/object/manage. In a similar vein, how would you go about keeping users from executing python scripts or external methods by just typing in the path to that object (http://zopesite/pythonscript) yet still let the pages that use those methods to access them?

Date/Time formatting problem

Hi List, I'm getting: - "The time -276134400.000000 is beyond the range of this Python implementation." When I use: - <span tal:replace="python: RawDateTime.strftime('%d/%m/%Y')">Date</span> My range of dates is from around 1924 to 2026. The data is from SQL Server, and I'm using the egenix mxODBC DA. Can anyone point me in the right direction to sort this out, please? I am using LDAPUserFolder to give users an Authenticated role (not Manager), and if you type 'manage' after any URL (http://zopesite/object/manage) there is a management pane shown for them. I understand what you are saying, but I'm not sure exactly how to implement this. I have tried restricting privileges on the external methods that I am using, but when I give the method enough permissions to be able to be called from a page on my site, anyone who has authenticated (base authenticated role) is able to then execute that method from a URL. I might be missing something in the paradigm here ....
