Strange For loop with ZCatalog

Hi, For some tests I have done : - Create about 5000 folders under the Root Zope Site - Inside those folders, I have created about 30 000 objects ( as document, just an id, title and a Type). - I've catalogued all inside a catalog named TheCatalog I have written just this function, in intend to test my CPU ( that why I've written it like this): allobject = context.TheCatalog.searchResults(Type='TypeTest') l=len(allobject) i = 0 #for i in range(len(allobject)): for object in allobject: #path = allobject[i].getPath() #course = allobject[i][0] path = allobject.getPath() course = allobject[0] thepath = string.split(path,'/') lepath = string.join(thepath[:-1],'/') lieu=context.restrictedTraverse(lepath) lieu.manage_delObjects(course) i+=1 return "Len: %s and Number parsed: %s" %(i,l) Phase A: I have 30 000 objects and the message following: Len: 30000 and Number parsed: 15001 In my catalog: 15000 object only were destroyed. !!! Phase 2: I de-comment my comment lines, but I've got the same message. I try to understand what it happens, but I can't. Anyone has a brillant idea? Cookies and dictionaries

Hello, I am trying to store a dictionary in a cookie which I would like to retrieve later and use. A test python script is as follows: ########## request = container.REQUEST response = request.RESPONSE dic = {'filter':'yes'} response.setCookie('myCookie', dic) if request.has_key('myCookie'): mydic = request.myCookie print mydic['filter'] return printed ########### When the script is run I get an error: > *Error Type: TypeError* > *Error Value: sequence index must be integer* It seems that the dictionary is returned as a string. How can I cast this string to a dictionary type? Thanks. Kashif

Hi, and thanks for sharing the information! I wonder if the same problem also applies to windows XP as well. In XP, windows unpacks compressed files and folders if you double-click them.... Installing CMF

Which version of CMF should I install? And should I expect it to install correctly using the defaults? Zope has installed itself in /opt/zope. Does CMF install itself under Zope and will it be able to find the correct loation for itself? I don't suppose an RPM for RedHat v7.3 is available... -- John

Installing Plone

I'm trying install Plone on Red Hat 7.3 and thought it would be easiest to try an RPM for my platform. The most recent version I can find is 1.0.3 but it complains about the version of Python installed. The install said it requires Python 2.1.3 but I have 2.2.2. What should I do? -- John

Building a site template

Are any instructions available for building a template for a site? I have yet started looking at templates and don't know if one would start with developing a site specific template. If there is a tutorial which helps you get started that would be very handy... -- John
