Where is the default ZPT?

I would like to edit the text of the default ZPT that comes up when you create a new Page Template from the ZMI. Basically all the pages on a site I am working on have the same template. Following the instructions in the Zope Bible, I created a Page Template containing a metal:define-slot macro <span metal:define-slot="content"> Content will go here. </span> And then created a content file as a new Page Template with a matching metal:fill-slot tag enclosing the page's content. Works great. Now what I would like is to be able to create new pages but just adding new Page Templates that prefill the "metal:fill-slot"-containing skeleton. I tried editing standard_templage.pt so that it contains the following: <html metal:use-macro="root/SubPageTemplate/macros/standard_look"> <head> <title tal:content="template/title">The title</title> </head> <body> <span metal:fill-slot="content"> Paste content here. </span> </body> </html> But this file does not seem to be what I guessed it was because when I create a new Page Template and click "Add and Edit", the textarea still contains the boilerplate ZPT that shipped with my Zope installation (2.6.4rc1): <html> <head> <title tal:content="template/title">The title</title> </head> <body> <h2><span tal:replace="here/title_or_id">content title or id</span> <span tal:condition="template/title" tal:replace="template/title">optional template id</span></h2> This is Page Template <em tal:content="template/id">template id</em>. </body> </html> Where do I edit the default ZPT content? Hi Rocco Definitely, use ZPT instead of DTML. Also, do not use ZClasses, but create a "real" product, also known as file-system-based (FS) product. Look on the zope web page for information and examples on how to do this. Well I added the lines you suggested [I should have thought of that :)]. And the the same thing happens. I don't know what is wrong. It would come up with an error if it didn't support ReWrite rules, wouldn't it? I'm shore it does though. I'm using webmin to change the httpd.conf file and apply changes. newbie zope programming?

Hello, What is the best way to program in Zope for web development? DTML, ZClasses, ect... DTML is close to what I was doing on IIS and ASP. But I don't want to get into the wrong methods. I will be using MySQL as a backend. I also do not yet know Python, but am willing to learn. I tried finding some Python Mysql Tutorials, but did not come across any. Thanks Frank

Greets; Was reading up on ZSyncer (latest release) and one issue comes to mind. Is there a known work-a-round for servers that are located in different time zones or is this already integrated into the product provided each server time setting is correct for its specific time zone? ie: Master server: MET Slave server: EST regards /ch

Object's lines properties break code in Zope264rc2

An object with lines properties in Zope264rc2 returns a tuple, while in Zope261 it returns a list. I haven't found information about this, neither in the 264rc2's changes log nor within this list. Is it a bug or a new feature? Ausum

exUserFolder mysql authentication, password question

Hi, I'm currently looking into the possibility of replacing our own home-made content management system with Zope/Plone. We have a mysql database we will want to continue to use. I have installed exUserFolder, to be able to use user information stored in this database for authentication. Now that's almost working, the only thing is that exUserFolder is expecting passwords to be encrypted; which they are not. Is there a way of telling exUserFolder that it should work with non-encrypted passwords? Thanks, Ivar van Duuren

Zope Development in other locales + Dreamweaver

I want to start developing in zope 2.6 I don't mind using the built in editor that zope has, but when I try to write in a different language, e.g. greek or japanese, the resulting page might show the other language, but when I edit the page it results in the language equiv of the html entities. Is there a way to have the unicode inside the editor, or do I have to use a WYSIWYG editor such as dreamweaver? How do I show the extensions? The tutorial you have on the how-to page (the one that says to save as source.html) does not work on winblows XP. Need some info there on how to do it, also (through ftp or webdav). Accessing the members of a tuple

Hello. I have a Python script that returns a tuple result to a DTML document. The script is working correctly. However, when I try to access the members of the tuple from the DTML document, Zope returns an error saying that the 'Resource courseInformation[0] is not available'. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
