Memory Leaks, an Observation

Just an observation that I have not heard of yet. I have a filesystem product that until recently relied on some TTW Script(Python)s to do interfacing with some ZSQL Methods. What happened in that configuration was refcounts of those python scripts and their associated containers (in cache extreme detail) incrementing and never going away, a substantial memory leak that necessitated restarting the server regularly. They showed up on the main Debug page in the Top Refcounts listbox as lots of Acquisition.ImplicitAcquirerWrapper-s. So, just to see if it was the Script(Python)s or the code itself, I put identically the same code as methods in the filesystem product. Result: No more runaway memory usage. :) YMMV. -- Jim Washington

Problem running zope 2.7

Hello, I'm a newbie to Zope and is looking for some help to get zope running. I installed Zope-2.7.0 on Fedora. I also installed python 2.2.3. How To Get A Zope Traceback

I'm having a problem importing a Plone site into Zope. To determine whether it's a Zope problem or a Plone problem, I'm trying to get a traceback. When I import the site, I get the following error page: -------- Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. ImportError

Hello, I tried to delete a old product, which I no longer need. If I try to access a directory which had some instances of this product in it, then I get the following Error: Error Type: ImportError Error Value: No module named ZReportLab2.ZReportLab But I have deleted all instances, I could find with the search routine. I also have packed my Data.fs. What can I do, that I get rid of this old product? Regards Florian Reiser

Hello all, This ought to be simple, but can't find module/function to do this. I'm writing an external method that reads text for inclusion into HTML. Some of the strings have "&" (= &) and other non-HTML conformant characters. I know Zope takes care of this translation automatically, but is there something outside Zope I could use? TIA. Samir.

Hi, I have a form for file uploading, in the pyhton script i want to know the name of the file. I can't find any api reference of the zope module/methods. i have a form like this: <form action="attach_action" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <p>Name: <input type="text" name="name"></p> <p>File: <input type="file" name="file"></p> <input type="submit" name="ok" value="ok"> </form> and in python script i returned "file" and the result is: <ZPublisher.HTTPRequest.FileUpload instance at 0x4199834c> can someone help me on this issue? And where can i found a complete and better API reference than the one in the Zope Book. It's very frustrating for a newbie losing time with this kind of things. thanks in advance, Bruno

IntegerIndex and range

Images don't get cached in IE, in the presence of Apache's mod_gzip

I stumbled with a problem regarding the caching of images in Internet Explorer 6. They just don't get cached when served through Apache if mod_gzip is on, in despite of the excluding rules for that module. This problem also involves Zope, as it happen even though you had set cache properties via Zope's http accelerator manager. Has anyone else had this same problem?. How did you deal with it? According to this information http://www.nelson.monkey.org/~nelson/weblog?q=mod_gzip the problem is due to a bug in IE triggered by mod_gzip. As IE is the most used browser this can be taken as a bandwidth leak (even if we choose not to use mod.gzip) Any ideas? Ausum

Field Index PDF for Catalog

Hello again. I am trying to index the content of PDF files in Zcatalog, but at the moment I have only been able to index their titles or id. My question is, what attribute and what type of index should I use for this? Do I need to install some component, pluggin of some sort? Please help me. I am running Zope 2.6 (without CMF). Thank you.
