I am getting the following error in my console: Fatal Python error: PyEval_RestoreThread: NULL tstate This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Does anyone know what this means and how I can resolve the problem? Thanx, Marc Rijken

I've got a web application that allows users to access their GL information. I'd like to add a button to the form that allows them to take the current page and download it into Excel. I've worked with Excel automation quite a bit but I don't know what kind of package I'd need to use to allow me to control Excel from Python. After I create the Excel file, I need to download it to the client computer. Any ideas on the best way to go about that? Thanks. Joe Goldthwaite

Integrating Structured Documents in a website

Hello! (Please cc me, as I am not subscribed.) I am having problems integrating Zope in my web-site. I have not been able to find a way to display them with my own headers and footers. I would really appreciate help with that. I do not mind if I have to use ZPT to do it, as I have been meaning to get into that as well. Any help is greatly appreciated. Can users change their own passwords?

Anyone know how to set things up so that users can change their own passwords? Ideally, I'd like to have a flag that requires them to assign a password the first time they connect. This is a fairly common practice but I haven't been able to find out any explanation on how to do it. Joe Goldthwaite

Zope2.7 RPM install

Hi I just installed zope 2.7 (in Fedora Core 1) from a binary RPM (zope-2.7.0-b1.rpm) found at: http://zope.org/Members/medienlabor/packages I just did rpm -ivh *.rpm then started the zope server by running "/usr/bin/runzope" . But the control panel tells me that zope version is "unreleased version, python 2.2.3". Is this the full released core zope2.7 version (same as Zope-2.7.0.tgz)? Is ZEO suppose to be in there too? After I started the zope server, I did not see any z2.log or other log files in in my INSTANCE_HOME (/var/zope) There is no /var/zope/log or /var/zope/var/log etc dir in this default installation. Am I missing some more install steps? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Gautam Saha

Problems with Zope Install

I am a newbie to Zope. I have managed to get version 2.6.2 installed on a i686 AMD machine running RedHat 9 and Python 2.2.3. If it makes any difference I also have Apache installed, but have not started the server yet. I can start Zope using the ./start command and am able to sign-in to Zope. Shortly after starting Zope, functionality begins to degrade and I am no longer able to navigate even though the application is still apparently running. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems or can point me in the direction of any information. I have scoured the Zope.org site with no success. I basically followed the article below when doing my install. The install appeared to be the same as that provided in the Zope documentation. sql like functionality to query zcatalogs

Hi all, This one has been nagging me. Is there some way to search a zcatalogs indexes using SQL? I have a few thousand objects that have price scattered throughout a site I am building. I am looking the price up in a MySQL database based on the objects id. I am seeking a way of cataloging all the objects ( done ) and search that catalog for objects with prices between a certain range. For example: select * from zcatalog where price > 2.5 and price < 2.75 If not sql, which way would be the most simple to do this? Thanks in advance Joel Jensen.
