2.7.1 on Windows

Just had a look at the 2.7.1 release and find that customary .exe install file for Windows is missing. Is this by design ? Is there no way to install on Windows other than building your own install strategy from the 2.7.0 install and overlaying the pieces? Surely this can't be a sensible plan?

Very lightweight form validation

I need to do some minimal validation on a few forms. The built-in typechecking (http://www.zope.org/Members/Zen/howto/FormVariableTypes) does about 99% of what I need, with the exception of outputting useful error messages. I've looked at some of the various form-processing add-ons but all of them see very "heavy" when what I mainly want to do is ensure that the user remembered to fill in their last name, and if not, tell them that they need to enter it and try again. Seriously, that's about the sophistication level I'm targeting. Any suggestions? -- Kirk Strauser The Day Companies

Hi, is it possible to do a HTTP subrequest to another Website from a ZPT? Is there a special syntax in a tal: expression to make such a subrequest? Excluded from Zope mailing lists

Since a few days, I no longer receive posts from Zope's mailing lists. I expect this to be an interaction between some misconfiguration of the mail server responsible for Zope's mailing lists and a very effective spam filter of my ISP. This spam filter refuses to accept messages that are not MIME compliant (e.g. do not have a valid "Message-Id" header) or come from unknown mail servers (mail servers without or with apparently forged DNS entries). I would really be sad when I could no longer participate in Zope discussions because of this problem. Hope that Zope's mail servers will soon stop again to look like spammer tools. -- Dieter

Zope.app() error

Zope Version (unreleased version, python 2.3.4, linux2) actually Zope-2.7.1-b2 Python Version 2.3.4 ---------- Trying to track down a POSKeyError, I got through my usual process: [root@server2 local]# python2.3 >>> import ZODB, Zope >>> app = Zope.app() And get an error. This is the first time I'm doing this with 2.7, is this the problem? Any ideas on how to resolve this? ---------------- Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ? Hi List, This is a test, to see if I can access the zope lists. No mail is flowing, Mailman throws CGI errors, and I'm wondering if the change from: - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ...to... http://mail.zope.org/mailman-20/listinfo/zope ...in where the list /thinks/ it's coming from?
