Help with ZPT and dynamic javascript

All: Here's my design problem - I have a form with two drop down menus. The values of the second drop down depend on what the user selected in the first. The values of both fields are dynamic - pulled from a database when the form is published. I am trying to figure out how to enable this using Page Templates. My thoughts are: 1) use tal:replace to generate the script element and its contents - this doesn't seem to work with Zope ignoring everything within the script tags. 2) use a python script and tal:replace to generate the script element. This isn't working either - my suspicion is that the page never processes the created script element. 3) call the database directly with javascript. I have no idea how to do this or if it can be done and I really don't want to do it this way. 4) ?? What simple clue am I missing? FDF data from apache

I have a FDF (Adobe forms data) page on an Apache server. If posted to this site the formname and field/value pairs it will return FDF data. This will open the Adobe form and populate it with the data passed. Some of the forms have a number of fields. When the length of the form name and all of the data are added up it may push the limits of sending the data using url (GET) so I would like to use POST. The problem is I am unable to make this work in ZOPE. I tested this by first creating a form and using Apache this worked. I then copied the source of the document into ZOPE DTML document. This works but not what I want. I need to store the data to a database first then display the adobe form for printing. I then tried using a Python script and DTML document to post to this site but this returns to me the text of the FDF file. I tried setting the Content type inside the DTML document using: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type', 'application/Vnd.fdf')"> This caused Adobe to try and open but did not display my form. Thanks. I also found that Textpad and Homesite let you convert by saving in 'UNIX' format. The command line utility should be good for batching. No, I'm not experienceing this problem in Zope itself, but am to a small degree in Plone 2.0.3, and to a large degree in 3rd party add- on products for Plone. I'm getting to the point of converting all ZPT files before installing the product as a safeguard. Otherwise it is very hard to track down all the obscure instances. I hope developers will make the extra effort to check their products for this before sending them out the door. It is easy to forget a file or two, that was edited on Windows. I do much of the same thing, although I don't worry about authentication, since anonymous access is OK in my case. Jim's option is one, another would be to see if you can write something that could check Zope credentials, to kind of mimick mod_auth and related standard Apache modules. I suppose this could be a combination of mod_python and ZClient for example. Can you make an alternate folder the default?

This is probably a stupid question but once again, I haven't been able to find the answer myself. I've been doing everything in root. I don't want to have to specify the sub-folder name in the URL. Right now, they can to go http:\\EIS and it takes them to the index_html object tin the root folder. I ended up having to move everything into a subfolder in order to get the LDAP authorization working. Now I have a sub folder called EFS so to get to my application, the users need to go to http:\\EIS\EFS. Is there any way to make a sub-folder the default point for the URL? In other words, if you go to http:\\EIS\xxx can Zope look in the EFS sub-folder for xxx?

timetable

Hi, I'am looking for a Zope product to make a timetable for a week for students in a semester. I have found at zope.org NuxWidgets, but I could not get them running under Zope 2.7.1. My wishlist includes a changability via Browser like in the Corporate Calender product. Does anyone know such a product ? Thanks in advance Sigbert Klinke
