Problem with zope and long strings

Hi ! My problem is that: I want to js.alert with long strings. I create these strings, and the complete js code. But zope is wrapping my strings like that: <script> function aaa{ jscode... s="xxxxxxx ........ "; jscode... }; </script> Everytime it is do that, so I cannot prevent that. But this format the JS interperter is making errors. Please help me: how to prevent the long string wrapping ?

ImportError

I reckon this must be a FAQ but I can't seem to find a sensible answer anywhere. I'm getting a constant error of: Error Type: ImportError Error Value: import of "Shared.AppleScript.test" is unauthorized All I'm trying to do is import a trivial module from (zope/lib/python/)Shared/AppleScript/test into a PythonScript in Zope. Longer term I want to use a standard module which Zope will not give me access to (os - so I sort of understand this) but at the mo I've stripped the function down to just returning a string in order to get things to work - except it's not. Can I not import shared modules into an (internal top Zope) PythonScript? Please, help and pointers to appropriate documentation would be much appreciated. For now I give up! How can you make python library available in python script

Sorry for the multi post first of all . In http://plone.org/Members/runyaga/presentations/OSCOM/workshop/oscom.html it says "Exposing existing python libraries is trivial." and "Zope and CMF provide the services that Plone consumes. What does this mean for a developer? * any/all libraries (thousands) available to Python are usable by Plone" But there is no documentation anywhere saying how this can be done . for instance I go to the web and find a great charting library pychart or chartdirector. How can I add it so that it is available in python script. Please don't respond by saying use ZGDCHART because Ihave tried this also and cannot get it to install either. I would prefer to learn how to add a library to zope . it can't be that hard. I have searched(google and the mailing lists) and found that if I put the library in my plone\python\lib\site-packages directory but once I do that I am not sure how to reference the library classes from the python script . I have tried doing an import but I keep getting import of <package name> is unauthorised. Any suggestions or help or suggestions for other things to google would be most appreciative. logout

I am trying to provide a logout option for my users. After some googling, I found a few suggestions and tried them (I am using a standard acl user folder in zope 2.7) from the python API The following mostly works but requires manager permission (I traced this to RESPONSE.setBody call...) self._acctFolder.manage_zmi_logout(REQUEST, RESPONSE) What is the right way to logout a user? Checkout the README.txt file in the python scripts area of your Zope installation (probably: python/Products/PythonScripts/README.txt). Then add: allow_module('urllib.unquote') or whatever module of your interesting python library to your __init__.py file and restart Zope. THEN you can use it in a python script. That's fine for you if you have trusted users ONLY on your system, but that's not good for a more general approach to life with Zope. That's why only a limited selection of modules are available in Python Scripts. Math with a DTML variable

Having done some google searches with no result and referenced again the Zope book on DTML, I assume what I am trying is either very trivial or dumb: I want to do some math in DTML, here an example: <dtml-let myCounter=0> <dtml-in expr="some_method(_['a_current_id'])"> <dtml-if checked> <dtml-call expr="myCounter=myCounter+1"> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> <dtml-if expr="myCounter>0"> DO SOMETHING! </dtml-if> </dtml-let> "some_method" returns a sequence where some items might have an attribute "checked". So while I iterate over the sequence I want to change the value of "myCounter". The code above generates Syntax Errors. I tried referencing myCounter with the underscore, no luck. Any help appreciated. If there's a web page that explains a little how to "manipulate variables using DTML", I'd be really thankful to know. Cheers Marc

Redirect from zpt

Where do I go to search the archives of this list? I need to redirect from a zpt to another page, if request does not have a specific key. I have googled and read the zope book and tried every variation I can think of... now I just feel stupid. DTML and ZSQL help

am having a problem accessing a ZSQL method that is not in the acquisition path. When try the following I get an error <dtml-in "/SAS/queries/add_customer(REQUEST)"> Expression (Python) Syntax error: invalid syntax , for tag <dtml-in "/SAS/queries/add_customer(REQUEST)">, on line 23 of index_html is there a way to do this?
