ZCatalog: searching where on index == another index

Hi all, Is there a way to search for all the records where one indexed field equals another indexed field? Equivalent SQL query would be: SELECT * FROM table WHERE field1 = field2 I know I can get all the unique values for field1 and then do a search for records where field2 = [unique field1 values], but isn't there a better way? __getitem__ and returning a PageTemplateFile instance

Hi, I am trying to make a product where-in I want to be able to return a page based on the url, think something like /product/username which would return a page with the users details. For this purpose I am using __getitem__, but when I return a PageTemplateFile instance it just tells me it has encountered a problem publishing the object. Example: class TestProd(SimpleItem): """A TestProd object""" meta_type = "TestProd" manage_options = ( {"label": "Edit", "action": "manage_main"}, {"label": "View", "action": "index_html"}) manage_main = PageTemplateFile("templates/mainTestProd", globals()) index_html = PageTemplateFile("templates/indexTestProd", globals()) userdetails = PageTemplateFile("templates/userdetails", globals()) def __init__(self, id, title): self.id = id self.title = title def __getitem__(self, id): # Does not work! results = fetch_userdata_from_db(id) return self.userdetails(self, self.REQUEST, results=results) def test(self, username): # Works, but uses /product/test?username=username results = fetch_userdata_from_db(username) return self.userdetails(self, self.REQUEST, results=results) I have tried with everything I can think of to debug this, but have so far failed. inheriting from SimpleUserFolder's User

hello! i use the SimpleUserFolder product and derive a MyUser class from it's included User class, which in turn inherits from BasicUser. the SimpleUserFolder's User class does neither reimplement getRolesInContext() nor allowed(). i looked at the source of BasicUser (lib/python/AccessControl/User.py) and found out that allowed() does not use the information provided by getRolesInContext(). i found this comment: # Still have not found a match, so check local roles. write file to FS (LocalFS?)

Hi, I am on a unix-like operating system, Zope 2.8, CMF, CPS (SVN Trunk). I would like users to be abble to write some file on the filesystem. I know there is LocalFS but I did not find a way to easy learn it. Need for advice ...

By desire of the gods and the ebays lords a bargain Sun Enterprise 250 arrived to my hands this week. The machine is equiped with 6x50GBytes SCSI HDs that can be setup in RAID 0, 1, 5 and 01 combinations and two Sparc 64bits CPUs with Solaris 10. The idea is to use it mainly for Zope/ZEO/Plone hostings. Anyone has experience or knows of sources of documentation for tunning a simmilar system to take the most of Zope (ZODB tricks, ZEO setup,...)? Thanks in advance for any help!

Having had a bit of a lambasting over my use of dtml, I have started to learn zpt. However, I am curious about the following: How do you do the equivalent of name="comp.name:records" to submit multiple values to zsql or to a python script, especially when the initial list is generated dynamically. regards Garry

There were a couple of bugs in beta1. I've just released beta2. It also includes a working CMF folder status action for ZSyncerTool (replacing the useless stub that was there.) It is very easy to use. proxy role for an external method

Hi, I have a working pyhton script in the ZODB that searches for members and is called by a xmlrpc client. Security is only needed based on source IP address, so Anonymous can execute it, but the script has an Authenticated proxy role. I would like to convert this script to an Exteral Method in $INSTANCE_HOME/Extensions. This basically works, but I cannot see any way to specify the proxy role. And when it is not specified the script obviously does not work. After some googling, I tried to make a <scriptname>.metadata file with: [default] proxy=Authenticicated But that does not seem to work... - Is the .metadata supported for external methods? - Is there another way to set proxy roles in external methods?
