Date of the first transaction in ZODB

Hi, I would like to know the simpliest way to get the date of the first (oldest) transaction in a ZODB. I use a Zope/Zeo configuration. I was able to retrieve this date by using _p_jar.db().undoInfo(), but this takes time, because the first transaction is the last entry of the returned table... So I was wondering if there was another solution. Thanks. Hi I want to upload a file.The user provides the file title and file path. Say this is the form <input type="text" name="fileTitle"> <input type="file" name="filePath"> Now I want the name of the file to be the id of the file in zope.Say the user attaches the file /var/test.doc.Then id of the file should be test.doc add_method = context.manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addFile add_method(??,filePath,fileTitle) Thanks __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SimpleUserFolder

In the documentation for SimpleUserFolder, it says def addUser(name, password, roles) This adds a user. It should raise an exception if the user already exists. What should it do if the user can't be added for any other reason? Any exception that I raise returns the error "user already exists" to the user, but the user doesn't already exist, I just don't want to allow him to be created. Surely I should be able to return different exceptions to give different reasons to the user as to why a new user cannot be created. Robert Munro

AttributeError: RESPONSE ?!

zForum

I have ZForum installed correctly in Zope and everything else that it says is needed. However when I add a zForum in the ZMI i get the following attribute error: manage_addCC There are some references to this problem if googled but no cures. Does anyone know the cause/cure of this. regards garry

shell command in zope on linux

memory problems

Hi to all, I run two instances of zope on a Sun sparc with Solaris 9. Data.fs of one instance is 2Gb big The actual problem is the lack of space on its partition => there is about 2 Gb of disk space left. One zope instance was running for 24 days and the 2Gb of disk space had been gone (although the Data.fs hadn't grown that much) Yesterday I made a copy on another server (as a backup) and restarted zope => it wouldn't start! So I removed all the extra files around Data.fs (that is all Data.fs.*), and retried to strart zope => then it finally started BUT: 1) the 2Gb that had gone during these 24 days came back => does Zope keep a temp file with a copy of Data.fs ? 2) the users sent me mail telling that they lost what they did for the 4 last days !!! => I thought Zope would gather all its temp (buffer) data into the Data.fs when it is asked to restart, does it do that or not ? What could I do to get back to the situation I was in before the restart (in terms of data => for my users) ? Should I try to restart with the removed Data.fs.* files (kept somewhere else) ? Since I used version 2.7.3 => I had problem with restart => I have had to remove the extra Data.fs.* files to manage a restart => But I hadn't lose data with that !!! Since version 2.7.3 was leaking I moved to 2.7.4, but I'm wondering if 2.7.4 has not another bug in storage?
