You must instead change the '__' attribute of a user object. : O My code below works, except that credentialsChanged() ends up redirecting to the login page vs, resetting the cookie and allowing the user to continue. Newbie Zope Howto

I'm trying to do a micro-Zope that basically store documents (PDFs scanned files) with some custom-made attributes (¿Who stores the document?, ¿where is the original -physical paper- stored?, ¿who is in charge of maintenance?, ¿token words?, ...) so that final users are able to search for stored docs based on those properties (ideally using regex approach, not exact matches). The idea is that users insert the scanned pdfs through a normal html form that forces them to input the additional data -properties- and reject the input if required fields are empty. Since I'm complety new to Zope and I see there are too many ways to approach the problem I wonder what's the easiest way to make it. Note: I'm used to Python development so that's not a "BUT" for me. Hello list, --- I can't seem to find an elegant solution to checking if an object has a certain attribute. The following fails (i.e. zope dies), if the attribute does not exist: <p tal:condition="exists: obj/someAttribute" tal:replace="obj/someAttribute" /> Of course, I just want it to skip the tag. Dying is a bit rash. Specifically, I want to test if a certain CGI parameter has been set, i.e. that the REQUEST object has a certain attribute. Mac OS X and zope (continued)

Hi, I am using OSX and my zope on powerbook still hang quite regularly, having state 'U' on list produced by 'ps aux'. If I run zope with runzope, when said 'hanging' occurs and i try to ^C kill the process zope process changes status to 'E', which man page describes as Process that trying to exit. I am wondering how would i go about debugging the zope to see which call zope hangs in , as debugging in zope.conf , did not make runzope output any more information... zope stalls quite frequently. It does not do so on my linux server. Zope hanging on my powerbook does not associate with any extensive memory/resource usage/thrashing as per statistics, or so it seems. I would like to resolve this problem with your help, thanks, Pavel

Telnet - psycopg - odbc - dbi with python in Zope

Hi Guys, I'm a newbie to Zope .. & here's my query .. My Application Architecture : Web Interface ( submit data & Report data)<-> Python Scripts ( Uses telnetlib, psycopg, odbc modules) <-> Database ( PostgreSql ) Querying the database directly through Python is an easy job but when I try to invoke the Python scripts through Zope, there are some security restrictions in zope where in we are not allowed to access all the built-in libraries of Python like telnetlib, psycopg, dbi , odbc & so on. I went thru some of the zope mailing lists & got a work around where in one can provide the access to some but not all of the Python built-in modules using the allow_access('<module-name>') method. The access to the modules like telnetlib, psycopg, dbi , odbc is restricted even in this case. Please let me know if you have a work around for this problem. Niranjan
