strftime and timezone

My zope application accesses a Postgres table with a timestamp field 'create_date' through ZPsycopgDA and I want to use strftime to format the date the way I like. However, I find that strftime returns a value that is not the same time as the original one, very likely due to some behind-scene timezone adjustment, which I don't understand and don't know how to control. The following PythonScript code is an illustration of my problem: msg=context.get_some_message t=msgs.create_date print t print t.strftime('%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S') return printed When called, the script returns: 2005/03/09 03:36:45 US/Central 2005-03-09 17:36:45 The question is, where does the 'create_date' object get the timezone information for the formatting, and how to achieve my desired output, that is '2005-03-09 03:36:45'? By the way, 'create_date' doesn't seem to be a Zope DateTime object, for when I tested with: t=DateTime() print t print t.strftime('%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S') The two prints give the same time value. For your information, in my ZPsycopgDA property, I have choosen the option: 'Use Zope's internal DateTime module (instead of mxDateTime)'. My zope version: 2.7.4 under Linux. Thanks for your help. Refcounts, ZODB Cache and memory leaks?

Hi, I'm trying to track down some memory leaks using LeakFinder. I get some custom objects with refcounts that keep going up on use. When I patch them using leakfinder I get no results which should be correct as they should be loaded from the ZODB rather than created. The problem is, why won't they go away after GC or clearing the ZODB cache? If anyone has experience with finding these kind of rouge references I'd really appreciate any tips. Generating and Downloading PDF.

Hi guys, I'm creating a pdf using reportlab, after the canvas.close() I put the following code inside a External Method: R = self.REQUEST.RESPONSE R.setHeader('content-type', 'application/rtf') R.setHeader('content-length', str(len(data))) R.write(data) But I receive the following error: *Error Type: NameError* *Error Value: global name 'self' is not defined Is there some import wich I have been missing? Error calling a Z SQL method

I am calling a Z SQL method from within a DTML method that is called by a DTML document. The Z SQL method is contained within a folder called 'selects'. The error I get is as follows: Error Type: ValueError Error Value: Strings are not allowed as input to the in tag. The following is the syntax I use to call the DTML method from the DTML document: <dtml-call "initialize_parameters(REQUEST, _)"> And, the following is the code I use to call the Z SQL method (i.e. retrieve_data_sql) from within the DTML method (i.e. initialize_parameters): <dtml-in "selects.retrieve_data_sql()"> </dtml-in> I have used this same piece of code in other places without a problem. Hi, OK, let me see if I can do that... I've already figured out that a python script/external method solution is what I'm after. But how to make it work? Anyone know about Greasemonkey in Firefox? Basically, it embeds a handy link in Web pages that have ISBN numbers in them (unique identifier for a book). When you configure Greasemonkey right, it checks for the book in your local catalog and returns a link to that book in your local library catalog. The trick is to use the same idea, but inside of Plone with an RSS feed that displays current bestsellers or other book-related stuff where there's an ISBN included. Here's the sort of python script I need, to the best of my knowledge, though the first function I can't use (it checks against an Amazon Wishlist--I don't want anything to be dependent on Amazon or a particular browser). Hello the list, In Zope.conf ( ZOPE 2.7.5-final ) I changed "rest-input-encoding" and "rest-output-encoding" to send "UTF-8" and then restarted the server. But in my webbrowser, the files are always received in "windows-1252". Please, what can I do to receive UTF-8 from ZOPE 2.7.5-final? Best regards.
