Hello all, I apologize if this is a wrong list for the question, but the python-crypto list doesn't seem to be working (at least I haven't received anything from there, not even the mails I've sent). Anyway I suppose there are people here who run the ZServerSSL with Zope. We're having some problems downloading large files from Zope/Plone running on win32, through an SSL connection. Uploads seem work ok. There's been some discussion about similar issues, but with uploads (http://www.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Proposals/ZServerSSLIntegration) The variable ac_out_buffer_size in https_server.py mentioned in that post is not present in the current version (or at least I haven't found it). The ac_in_buffer_size is assigned a value of 32k (1 << 16 bit shift operation). We've tried to change this value but with no success. This seems to be a problem only with SSL connections. If we download the same file (say, for example of 200MB) through HTTP connection the file transfers correctly. The same transfer through an SSL connection produces a corrupted file. M2Crypto 0.13 (suppose, The ZServerSSL has been installed with the Windows installer), Plone 2.0.3, Zope 2.7.0, Python 2.3.3 on win32. Kind regards, Tuukka

ZopeProfiler (python profiler) - strange results

Hi! I've just run ZopeProfiler few times to check which functions are slowest in my site and during analysis of the results I've found something that confuses me a bit. When I'm showing results using "print_stats" and ordered by "time" I get times: calls tottime percall cumtime percall function ... total_x ... cumulative_x ... X:1026(__call__) for function X. This seemed good till I've used "print_callees" format which showed me that function X is calling function Y and Z and their execution times are: functions_time = Y_call_time + Z_call_time. As far as I understand it "tottime" is the time without subfunctions' call times and "cumtime" is with subfunctions' call times, so I supposed that: cumulative_x - functions_time = total_x but this is not true... in almost every case I've checked it is rather: total_x + functions_time > cumulative_x Why? I don't think these are concurrent threads... but what makes this difference? It's possibly something trivial but... ;) -- Maciej Wisniowski

Error in treating custom exception

Hi all. It looks like I've hit something which is already known (I've found this reference: http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope-collector-monitor/2004-October/004316.h… ) I've a custom standard_error_html page, made with a Zope Page Template. I'm trying to provide a custom __str__ for a custom exception. This works, most of the time, but in some cases I encounter the following error: TypeError: unbound method __str__() must be called with InvalidFolderId instance as first argument (got nothing instead) InvalidFolderId is the custom exception, of course. This is the code of the exception: class InvalidFolderId(Exception): def __init__(self, folder_id): self.folder_id = folder_id def __str__(self): return "folder id %s could not be found in the database" % self.folder_id folder_id is a number. What could be done to avoid this problem? Thank you in advance for the help. Regards Marco

Follow-up to aq_parent(aq_inner(self))-question

Hi! How can I get the product's path while instantiating it? Shouldn't this information exist somewhere? aq_parent(aq_inner(self)) returns None, which isn't totally unexpected since __init__ isn't strictly a Zope method and thus doesn't necessarily have a Zope method's context. (I need, from the __init__ method of a product, to find out its instantiation path in the ZODB.) TIA, Ole

how do I check if an object have being recently updated??

I want to post a update date that will change when any of the objects in a folder has been updated. So far, I only know the command bobobase_modification_time, but it only works again the object I I enter the command with.. Plone: storage, catologing and versioning

Hi, I have a few questions about Plone (in some extent CMF/Zope): 1)How to manipulate versioning in Plone? (like CPS does) I know there is PLIP8, but it is still a proposal, isn't it? 2)How to store and catalog huge document collections? -LocalFS + ZCatalog? -Implement mapping and indexing in a relational DB? (I have also de ERP5's ZSQLCatalog option...) 3)Is there any product or Plone plug-in that allows enhanced searches through thesaurus or ontologies, or something like this? zoperun vs start and ssh

This may be a stupid question, but, after searching the archives to find out how to keep Zope running after starting and then disconnecting from a remote ssh session, nothing works. First, the Zope manual and all the archives messages talk about using ./start. That doesn't work for me unless I am just in the wrong directory. I am running ./zoperun from /bin. Using nohup and & doesn't keep Zope running when I log off my remote session. Any ideas? Thanks. Virgil Huston

Searching Content Objects in Zope 3

Hello, I've been working away on an application, and it's now starting to take shape, based around a series of content objects. As recommended on this list I opted for Zope 3 to build my app, and I'm finding it quite powerful. However, I've hit a bit of a brick wall around searching. It seems from the documentation that ZCatalog is the prefered way of doing a search in Zope 2, but that this isn't implemented in Zope 3. I've got Philipp von Weitershausen's (very good!) book, and he doesn't implement a search for his recipe objects. I've also been looking at the PDF of the Zope 3 Book (which I've also found really useful) and I haven't spotted searching of objects mentioned in that. My search tool will need to take various criteria (say, number of bedrooms, maximum rent, areas the property can be located in) and scan through my objects to find all the matches. I think I can work out how to search through the objects themselves in order to find the matches, the real problem is taking in the criteria in the first place. (Although, any tips provided on the searching side of things would certainly be welcome too!) As a 'dummy run' at searching I created a View for my PropertyFolder object that shows properties based on specified criteria - I can get this to work OK, but I have to put the criteria right into the Python code, so clearly that's not acceptable... I would be grateful for anything anyone could point me to that would help me to build a tool to search my content objects. Philipp mentions the use of Utilities for searching, but beyond that, I don't know where to start. Is it possible to use Interfaces to create data entry schemas/forms for Utilities in the same way as for objects? Any help, greatly appreciated. Different IPs, one zope instance
