SquishDot exposes issue with ZCatalog/Catalog.clear() in Zope 2.8.0

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 If you attempt to import a SquishDot site that was exported from an older version of Zope (in my case, Zope 2.6.4) into Zope 2.8.0, you get an exception raised in Products.ZCatalog.Catalog.py at line 106 because self has no _length attribute. In other sections of code in Catalog.py, there's this chunk of code present: ~ if not hasattr(self, '_length'): ~ self.migrate__len__() It seems that this chunk of code should also be inserted before the reference to self._length in the clear() method. I did so, and it solved my issue with importing SquishDot sites. database connections in a multi-Zope zeo environment

I am sure this is a synaptic disconnect, but I can't seem to get my head around this one. I have remote Zopes (call them "A", "B", "C" ) and a database server ("D"). I also have a bunch of mysql databases. All of the machines run mysql. All the Zope instances share the same Data.fs connected via Zeo. The two cases of interet are how to access a local database, that is, one the same machine as the running Zope, and, how to access a remote mysql database. ZMYSQLDA provides a static binding to connections. MYSQL grants access privileges based on source IP address. So, here are my questions: 1. When I open a database connection with the connection string -u dbroot -h localhost -passwd mypassword what machine is accessed? I'm presuming localhost is always the local machine. Is that correct? 2. How do I open a remote database connection so it works transparently across multiple instances of Zope? The Zope code, shared across instances, uses a single connection with a connection string like -u dbroot -h 192.168.0.3 -passwd somepassword Presumably each of the remote machines (and the database server if it runs Zope) needs an entry in the grant table. And all the database connections need to share the same password. Right? 3. Since queries are bound to their connection, there appears to be no easy way to manage connections in a simple way programmatically. Any help/comments much appreciated.

PLEASE HELP with VHM Problem!!

I still do not have a solution to get my VHM working. My programmer is on vacation and I don't know how he's got things configured. I've been spoiled by having a full-time programmer :) But he's on vacation and I'm screwed :( I need to get this site posting to the web but I'm having trouble with VHM. FS based product and image replacement

Hi *, I'm trying to use image replacement in a FS product, but unfortunately I'm not able to catch the image on the FS (a simple gif). The image is inside 'myproduct/images', what I've tried is to create an ImageFile and use it inside the background-image directive inside the stylesheet, but also url("images/foo.gif") with and without the absolute url. Hello everybody, Im using Zope 2.7.0 on Windows XP Pro. I pass some parameters from a form to a DTML method. Inside that method i try to get the parameters with <dtml-var sSQL> ( sSQL is the "name" of the submiting form's field). When i just use it as <dtml-var sSQL> everything is ok. When i use it like : <input type="text" value=<dtml-var sSQL>>, i get everything until the first space. For example from "select * from mytable" i get "select". REQUEST.setHeader doesn't seem to work?

Hi, I have a dtml file on FSDV which should return a file in text/plain format. The dtml method starts with: <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type', 'text/plain')"> ... some content ... However, when I use 'curl -I' to check which Content-Type header is returned, I find it is still 'text/html', despite the call to setHeader. Where could the problem lie? I am using Zope 2.7.6, with Apache configured as frontend (with rewrite enabled). Could it be caused by Apache? -- Hong Yuan 大管家网上建材超市 www.homemaster.cn

Well I think for plain zope there is a skinned folder (or similar named) implementation to apply the same approach except no CMF overhead. I think you could find it on zope.org or google around for it.
