Hi, We've been playing with the FSDump product (http://www.zope.org/Members/tseaver/FSDump) over the last few days, and all appears to be working fine, except for exporting ZClass based objects. The 'offending' part of the Dumper.py script appears to be: def _dumpZClass( self, obj, path=None ): # Dump properties of obj (assumed to be a ZClass) to the # filesystem as a directory, including propertysheets and # methods, as well as any nested ZClasses. if path is None: path = '' path = os.path.join( path, obj.id ) file = self._createMetadataFile( path, '' ) file.write( 'title:string=%s\n' % obj.title ) ### only getting this far as _zclass_ causes attribute error file.write( 'metatype:string=%s\n' % obj._zclass_.meta_type ) file.write( 'bases:tokens=%s\n' % ','.join( map( lambda klass: str(klass), obj._zbases ) ) ) file.write( 'class_id:int=%s\n' % obj._zclass_.__module__ ) file.close() I've indicated within the code snippet above that when parsing ZClass objects, it's only working to the point where it's successfully written out the title to the .metadata file, but then fails. We put in some debug logging, which reveals: exceptions.AttributeError _zclass_[('zope/Products/FSDump/Dumper.py', 158, '_dumpObject', 'handler( object, path )'), ('zope/Products/FSDump/Dumper.py', 454, '_dumpZClass', "file.write( 'metatype:string=%s\\n' % obj._zclass_.meta_type )")]) which suggests _zclass_ is an attribute not available on our objects. These are fairly basic ZClass objects for news items, and I've tried creating several additional test Products to try and determine what is required to get this to work, but to no avail. If anyone has any pointers as to what needs doing to get FSDump to dump out ZClass objects, I'd be more than happy to hear suggestions! ZDatabaseTool - does this still exist?

Hi Does anyone know if this still exists? I'd like to have an easier way to manage the Zope database. The page at http://www.zope.org/Members/aeg/ZDatabaseTool doesn't provide any downloads. Are there any other database manager tools for the ZODB? like the one that mySQL has over the web. Thanks

localhost:8080 not found on windows

Hi I have installed Zope and Plone on a windows business server. On trying to view http://localhost:8080/manage I am getting a 404 not found etc. The server is already running a webmail service, however nothing comes up for locahost or http://127.0.0.1. I've also tried using the IP address of the machine to access the interface with the same result. The IP address is available in web DNS. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the zope/plone browser interface running at all? Thanks

Context - how can I be here when I'm there

Hello all, First post. I've read (past tense) tfm, but still don't know quite how to do this. I'm writing a Python script called by a zpt page. How can I obtain the resource/object which was first called by the visitor to the site, from the python script. I've tried context.PUBLISHED , but that is not quite what I want, as it gives more of a url style. I'm tring to get something that I can compare to an objectValues() list. I had two ideas already, one was to call back to zpt and then do a comparison to /here, the other was to pass /here from my zpt page to the Python script. I think either of those might work, but would like to know if there is a way to access the "/here" from Python? -------------------- Chris Matheson

The Login Blues

Hi, All- I have the "login blues." My company site allows anonymous visitors to enter a user login id and password, with the Role 'CoPersonnel'. It then allows them to create a project page and their project info... All is well and good until later, when they login to edit their page. It works, BUT it gives them permission to edit anyone else's page that has the Role 'CoPersonnel'! It also seems that while the first login is successful, they retain an 'Anonymous User' role. These two reside in a "Projects" folder: login_html, acl_users. The individual projects are located in a "Projects" subfolder: "projects_current." Do the acl_users and login_html file have to reside in the individual project folder? (BTW, I got the code from "The Book of Zope.") Any help greatly appreciated, this seems weird and I'm baffled. bad ZCatalog behavior

hi all! i read something about using image submit buttons with zope here: http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/#bct_sec_6.13 there's a patch for zope 2.5's zpublisher, quite old :/ so i patched ZPublisher.py by hand, anybody interested in the patch against zope 2.8.0?
