Zope 2.9 and SSL

Hello, Is anyone tried to access Zope 2.9 via SSL? I've tried m2crypto, but this doesn't work with the newest zope. And I've tried to use stunnel, but I'm stuck with some problems - I cannot find the way to force zope to use https://xxx urls with choosen stunnel port number. The easiest way is to use Apache, but I have reasons to not go that way. Any clues? Best regards, Janusz

That part is in the Zope book. The syntax with manage_addProduct[... is used for filesystem based products (like the stuff you have in your instances "Products" folder). Regards, Sascha

context in fs product

Hello, from doing TTW I'm used to call methods on the object that is passed in by the "context" variable. I'm just writing my first fs based product and was wondering how I can get "context" from within a method? Of course I can try to construct it from self.REQUEST, but ... is this _THE_ way to do it? Zope or Plone for a social-networking site? (2nd try)

Hi everybody, I was thinking about trying to develop a social-networking site, like myspace.com or facebook.com (well, on a much smaller scale of course). Elements I'd like to make available for the users are: - profile with photo gallery - blog - instant messages to other online users - chat functionality - forum/discussion boards - "internal" mail system - ... (should be extensible) After looking for information for quite some time, I am still not quite sure what to do: 1) Do you think Zope/Plone would be the right thing for this kind of project, or rather some Java CM-system (with better performance maybe since it is compiled and not interpreted?) or some PHP-system? (not a fan of PHP, to be honest... I favor python) 2) Now, the main question: Zope or Plone? I don't completely understand the difference between these two... The CMF developer community and Zope Corporation are pleased to announce the release of version 1.6.0-beta of the Zope Content Management Framework (CMF). This release is intended for testing purposes only; we do not recommend deploying it to production servers. The final release of version 1.6.0 is planned for Sunday, February 26 2006. What is the CMF? The Zope Content Management Framework provides a set of services and content objects useful for building highly dynamic, content-oriented portal sites. As packaged, the CMF generates a site much like the zope.org site. The CMF is intended to be easily customizable, in terms of both the types of content used and the policies and services it provides. TextIndexNG2 problems

I have PloneLocalFolderNG installed, which works great. But, I can't run python setup.py install for TextIndexNG2. I get the following error: running install running build running build_ext error: Python was built with version 6 of Visual Studio, and extensions need to be built with the same version of the compiler, but it isn't installed. The documentation says to install the win32 extensions, TextIndexNGExtensions-2.02.win32-py2.3.exe, so I did that. Still can't run the setup script. Any ideas? System: Zope 2.7.6-final, python 2.3.5, win32 Thanks. Barry Drake

where to install rtf2xml script to work with Zope and TextIndexNG?

Hi all, Where should I install rtf2xml script, or will python setup.py install take care of that? My setup: zope 2.8.5 windows XP Pro Should I install it under Zope "Products" or under Zope "Extensions" ? Ultimately this script is for use with TextIndexNG(3, I hope) which I have not installed yet. I am being guided by event.log errors from an old installation of TextIndexNG under Zope 2.7.8 (that was bundled with the windows installer of Plone 2.1.2). Thanks, Owen
