I am stuck on trying to preview images that are uploaded from a html form. <form method="POST" action="py_save_new_image" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" name="file"> <input type="submit" name="save" value="Upload"> When the form is submited it sends it to a python script that gets the image and sends it to another page to be previewed. Problem is, I receive and error that the image cannot be displayed. My python script is below. REQUEST=context.REQUEST content_type=file.headers['Content-Type'] if content_type.find('image')!=-1: context.REQUEST.RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type', 'image/jpg') img = file.read() print context.dtml_select_new_image(context, context.REQUEST, image=img) return printed else: return "error" I load the image in a dtml method with: <dtml-var image>

Override members values

Hi all! I need to override the value of some members of my product I think the correct way was __getattr__ function but I read some list's messages telling to use __getattr__ only if you don't have other way How can I override only the value of some dynamic members? I call dynamic members to the members that the user adds (with a property or an object) Why? Because I would like things like: Object.member1 -> 1 (if you are a manager) Object.member1 -> 2 (if you are a normal user) or Object.member1 -> 1 (for firefox users) Object.member1 -> 2 (for ie users) Where member1 is a property at property manager (for example) Thank so much! -- Mis Cosas http://blogs.sistes.net/Garito

Check Zope status

Hi All, We're having a few problems with our Zope server, it seems to be crashed but were not sure whether it is actually crashed or merely waiting (a long time) for a response from LDAP to authenticate our users, which may be causing it to hang. Is there any tool we can use to test to see if Zope has actally crashed? Jon

Zope 2.7 installation on SuSE 10.0 - unable to find startup script

This is rather bizarre, but I'm unable to determine what script to run to start my Zope instance. I installed 2.7.7-3, which comes with the distro, and ran mkzopeinstance.py, which terminated without errors after asking for the instance home and site admin id/password. Isn't there supposed to be a startzope.py somewhere? The closest thing I could find was the following: [/opt/zope/lib/python/Zope/App] > python startup.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "startup.py", line 16, in ? from AccessControl.SecurityManagement import getSecurityManager ImportError: No module named AccessControl.SecurityManagement Even wierder, my installation contains an AccessControl.SecuritySuite package with a SecurityBase module - no SecurityManager. Can anyone shed some light, here? -Tom Russell

Adding User Roles

We're running Zope version 2.5.1 here in the office. My boss was telling me when he tries to add a user role under the security tab, it won't show up as a selectable role under the acl_users folder. Anyone ever seen this problem before? -- David VanKirk

hi all windows 2003 plone 2.1.3 asp404 (deefault.asp) now all work fine. but this is a problem in windows2003 with Forms e.g login form ,I try to replace zopeserver.open with: openmode = Request.ServerVariables("REQUEST_METHOD") if Request.totalBytes > 0 then openmode ="POST" end if zopeServer.Open openmode, zopeRequest, False but perhaps with some ctrl+F5 works but in first time that I click on login button give me Error500 . is there anyone who knows what I say?and I know that YOU change something in your default.asp , what do YOU change there? thanks alot shahrzad

Newbie questions about MVC, Continuations, Persistence

Hi, I am completely new to the world of Zope and would like to know how zope handles the following: 1. MVC 2. Continuations 3. Persistence ala Hibernate I have an existing cocoon project, 2.1.8, which I was contemplating on moving either over to webobjects or zope. I have a number of java classes which I would like to continue to use and wondered whether zope would be able to plug into these classes, or are am I looking at a complete re-build for those as well? One major issue I have is with a paypal SDK I am currently testing which handles merchant banking, are there any merchant banking SDK's out there which are zope compliant that anyone know of? regards Andrew

I read all the documentation I could find and followed it to the word. I believe other factors came into play which resulted in a non-working installation. Not having a more holistic overview of system means that I easily get lost when something unexpected happens.
