Help writing test where bobobase_modification_time changes

I'll try to explain as briefly as possible. I've got a working cache pattern that keeps a cached version of a Zope file's content and only when it changes (by > bobobase_modification_time) the cache is invalidated and recreated. Here's the gist of my test class Test(ZopeTestCase.FunctionalTestCase): def test_recreateCache(self): """ bla """ self.folder.manage_addFile('foo.js','FOO data') url = self.folder.mytool.cacheFile('foo.js') # pseudo code this time path = urlparse(url)[2] response = self.publish(path) self.assert... tests on response... _file = getattr(self.folder, 'foo.js') _file.manage_edit(_file.title, _file.content_type, filedata='new data') newurl = self.folder.mytool.cacheFile('foo.js') assert newurl != url, "url hasn't changed :(" The reason it fails on the last line is that the time difference between the first time and the second time is nil. Adding a time.sleep(1) won't change anything because the bobobase_modification_time() doesn't change. How can I solve this? Make one big transaction two without having to use transaction.get().commit() which I don't think I can use in unit tests as per Dieter's advice. Grateful for help. ExternalMethod - add new parameter

There is a requirement for running some external methods as super user. For this I thought of adding a new parameter.If set the code would be executed with effective uid of root. Can some one point to the code section where zope loads the ExternalMethod codes for execution. -- Regards-- Rishi Pathak

i18n/L10n support in zope2

Dear list members, I am newbie/begineer in area of zope2 + i18n/L10n so please excuse me if this topic has already been discussed on the list, in that case can some one please point me to the past discussions/threads. After reading some basics about i18n+zope2, I have tried following - (zope version - Zope 2.9.7-final, python 2.4.4, win32 and Placeless Translation Service - 1.3.7) Created simple page template - <html> <body> <span i18n:domain="PlacelessTranslationService" i18n:translate="Reload this catalog"> Reload this catalog </span> </body> </html> Modified language preferences for browsers - (Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.4 and MS-IE 7.0.5730.11) to set German [de] as primary langage. When I viewed above page in firfox got the corresponing german translation (Diesen Katalog neu einlesen) as specified in related .po file. But with MS-IE, no luck, gives same string - Reload this catalog So is it browser specific/dependable ? Another thing I tried is adding attribute i18n:target="cs", but it seems to have no effect, firefox gives german translation as per language settings as MS-IE gives same string - Reload this catalog Does it means that attribute target is not supported ? Is there any list/documentation about supported i18n attributes ? Also I was not able to find references/examples for DTML, does DTML supports i18n/L10n ? Any help/suggestions/pointers would be of great help. Thanking you, Harshad.

The directory /var/zope/zope-prensa is where the "real" instance use to be. However for development and debuging I set up my working instance in my home. Any ideas? Best regards, Manuel.

Yes, I know it is ugly and I would like to use python instead, but as I said before I can't use the email module of python since the Machine were the page is hosted isn't administrated by me, so, there isn't any change of allowing or installing a python module.

BTW, we have related those unnecessary commits to CMFQuestions, an old plone product now superseded by PloneSurveys... default-zpublisher-encoding in zope.conf seems not to work in zope 2.7.9, the server response don't set any charset. While: <head tal:define="dummy python:request.RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type','text/html;; charset=ISO-8859-1')"> works, and the characters are displayed ok. But I cannot modify all the templates around and I'm looking for a general solution. The problem is to replicate a 2.6 Zope (run with -L it_IT) with 2.7.9. Zope 2.6 returns: Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 while Zope 2.7.9 returns: Content-Type: text/html Here the zope.conf part (default-zpublisher-encoding is ok, default_zpublisher_encoding don't exists in zopeschema.xml): ====== # Directive: locale # # Description: # Enable locale (internationalization) support by supplying a locale # name to be used.
