Sounds like the problem is with the installation of ZPatterns... it looks like you are trying to run this 2 year old product with the latest Zope. Command line zope ?

Greetings I am a Zope newbie but have been using python for a little while. I am a member of the team responsible for rebuilding my departments webiste. I have suggested that we create a portal site and use a CMS and other some-such. In order to do this I have also suggetsted that we use zope. There is however one outstanding issue, -command line access. I live in *nix land and often times people do not have access to (or want to use) graphical interfaces. From what I have seen of zope already everything is done through the browser. So these are my questiions: Does zope have any kind of back door so that pages can be edited with vi or emacs? Is there command line access to the zope server database? Has any one used such tools or created them if they do not already exist? Thanks very much for your comments -matthew

Name Error / Global name not defined

Hi, Im getting an error in a DTML document while trying to access an array I declared in a python script which I subsequently returned. The python script looks like: # Creates a pending array pendingArray = ['test'] return pendingArray and is called by this line in the DTML document. <dtml-call expr="createPendingArray()"> The line that is causing the error to be thrown is: <dtml-call expr="addEntryPendingArray(pendingArray,Word)"> which causes the following error: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'pendingArray' is not defined Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.. Dieter, thank you for responding. I made several attempts based on my understanding of your answer and I still am not getting it right. Troubleshooting DTML can sometimes be a pain since you rarely get useful information on what line the error occurs on. Often, isolating the error requires whittling down your assumptions. For example, give any scripts you call a new name and replace them with "dummy" objects that return a single, correctly-formatted value. Try one at a time. When doing this makes a difference in what error you get back, you've probably found at least one source of the problem. Sorry I can't be any more insightful than that. It's not obvious (to me) what the source of your problem is here. Unless someone else has the answer, I would expect that you've got some debugging to do. HTH, Dylan

portal_migration errror....

Hi, I found there is a portal_migration tool in my Plone site and I tried to use it to upgrade from 1.0.1 to 1.0.5. The result is below: (I checked "Dry run" but I don't know what it's mean...) Starting the migration from version: 1.0.1 Attempting to upgrade from: 1.0.1 Upgrade to: 1.0.2, completed Attempting to upgrade from: 1.0.2 Upgrade to: 1.0.3, completed Attempting to upgrade from: 1.0.3 Upgrade to: 1.0.4, completed Attempting to upgrade from: 1.0.4 Upgrade to: 1.0.5, completed Attempting to upgrade from: 1.0.5 No upgrade path found from that version, migration stopping End of upgrade path, migration has finished Dry run selected, transaction aborted Something is missing in my install... What can I do? Thanks.
