Hi All, How to find out the total number of users logged-in in a zope server at given instant of time. Is there any way to monitor their activities and the effect on perfomance in real time. hi, sorry for the mail-confusion. Again, i have read about issue #181 in the bug-list of zope.org. Obviously different people have found different workaorounds but that bug is not fixed yet!? I'am not very familar with that list(who works on that bug?, who is to contact?, is that bug possibly fixed?). I have tried the attempt in bug-list entry #5, but this doesn't work. Can anybody help? Zope3 release date

Hi folks, when looking at the Road map at dev.zope.org the release date for ZopeX3 is terminated on the 1st of September. If I look in the download area, there is still the milestone 3 available for download, but no final release of ZopeX3. As I'm eagerly watching the cvs changelog, I'm nervously waiting for ZopeX3, because of its charm in programming products. Does anybody know something about the real release date or about the things that have to be done first? I'm sorry that I can't help programming the new Zope, but I'm still not good enough at programming. For that I want to try to program some products for the new Zope and get into business with it. Macromedia and ZPT source code issues when saving

Hello, I have applied the patch for webdav that changes the object name to an extension that Macromedia will understand <http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2003-April/134076.html>. So far so good. The problem appears when the designer saves the page template back to Zope. The source code contains the rendered HTML instead of the TAL/TALES/METAL tags. Am I missing something here? TIA Jordi

Hello! What is the most elegant way to send an email from a page template? My current solution is to call the send() method of the MailHost object from an "External Method". Is there a more direct way? Regards, Matthias Suencksen

OK, I am very new to Zope so I might be sending this user on a wild goose chase without meaning to. I hope those who are more experienced will jump in and correct me if I'm wrong; because it is certainly not my intent to do harm. I believe that this Zope Product may give you the flexibility you are looking for. It is called "GroupUserFolder" and is a group user tool for Zope. I am working with it at this time in a similar situation, where I have Divisions, Units and Users to keep track of. Perhaps this is a common modelling problem which someone has done before: We have people, and people may have many different roles. So for example, a person can be a lecturer and also a fire warden. Now each person has common properties, and then more specific ones as a lecturer or fire warden. So I create a container for common persons, and then containers for lecturers and containers for fire wardens. Each is its own class, with its own properties. Now with my brain still full of relational data base concepts, I use each object's id as a key, so to look up lecturer Joe's telephone number, I say in the context of lecturer, joe.people.joe.telephone which is very ugly and path dependent.... furthermore, if Joe the lecturer has a specific phone number then I want that, not Joe the person's number. Another way could be to have a getTelephone() method and use aquisition, but again, that would be structure dependent - all lecturers and firewardens would have to live in containers within the People container. So can an object 'inherit/acquire' another object's properties without that object being a subclass of the other? Should I forget this altogether and use ZCatalogues? Is there something really obvious staring me in the face? Thanks for any pointers. Roman.

__before_publishing_traverse__: VHM put into TraversalRequestNameStack

Hi, you all, I'm running several virtual hosts (Zope 2.6.2) behind an Apache. When I access a virtual host, the __before_publishing_traverse__ method of my site class sees a slash and the VirtualHostMonster on the top of the TraversalRequestNameStack (indexes -2 and -1). Is this a bug, or is it a feature I should rely on? Thanks, Tobias
