help me please!! can you help me please? I try a Javascript code in zope server to implement. But it does not succeed; why does it?is it possible to make that? how? I have the Javascript code as "javascript.js" stored as dtml file.und to call this have I dtml_dokument produced where I ve wrote this: <SCRIPT LANGUAGE=JavaScript> if(document.getElementById) document.write('<DIV class=poppervert id=topdeckvert></DIV>'); </SCRIPT> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" SRC="javascript.js"></SCRIPT> then I make a clik on "view",nothing appears !why? can you maybe suggest how to do it? sorry but my englich is so bad! thank you very much

Hi Bill, It's working pretty well but we've had our issues. But Zope has been great for our specific needs. I can't explain it as well as our programmer but I will forward this to him to see if he can put into words. Again it's given us a lot of headaches but it has also worked great. I will post his answer later. problem wiht Data.ds on two OSs and two zope versions

I have zope (version 2.4.2) server running on redhat linux 7.1 service, i want to move to another zope(version2.6.2) server on windows XP. I simply cope the Data.fs form linux machine to windows machine (replacing the default one),but it does not work when i try to log into the windowxp machine by using manage after finishing copying i got following error Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: CorruptedDataError Error Value: 2280556 how can i fix this problem? Thanks

Move project to another Zopeinstallation

Hi, I have to transfer a complete Zopeproject from one Zopeinstallation (v2.5.1) to another (v2.6.1). Unfortunately the person who managed the old Zopeinstallation hasn't left any documentation about what additional products and extensions he installed. So, a simple export/import of the whole project doesn't work. In a former post on this mailinglist I read something about copying the contents of Zope/lib/python/Products, Zope/Extensions and Zope/var/Data.fs from the old to the new installation. But after doing so and starting the new Zope process there occur many errors on the console and the process dies. Can anybody help me please? (If this is a FAQ, sorry.) Bye, Chris

That is, when I go to the security tab in /Members/<name>, there is an entry that says that name has the local role of Owner and there is a remove button that can be pressed to remove the local role. This problem sounds very similar to the one I posted a couple of days ago with the subject line "[Zope] Running ExternalMethods using ZopeTestCase". I am trying to run my external methods through a script but no matter what I do to the Software and Instance home they keep losing their value, and so the external methods cant be found, and I am also very frustrated by it. Does anyone have any idea of a workaround for this? Can someone explain how the External Methods module interacts with the Instance and Software Home environment variables? dtml question

Greetings, I have a folder, containing dtml method1 (dm1), python script (ps) and dtml method 2 (dm2). - dtml method1 contains a form, which calls ps. arguments of ps are the information collected in the text inputs of dm1. Works fine. - ps processes the argument and depending on the values, does nothing or calls dm2, with the statement: return context.dm2(name_value=name) - Hence if I use <dtml-var name_value> in dm2, I expect it to have the value: name, and it does. I tried to use other dtml variables, which are defined in the same folder, however in dm2, and they were all undefined. This puzzled me. After reading the Zope book, my interpretation of events is that a dtml method typically is called inside other dtml methods and then operates on the folder, from which it is called. That is not the case here. It now operates on something else: the Python script, or the return value of the Python script. My first question is: Is this correct, is this why dm2 fails to recognize other dtml variables, defined in the same folder ? dtml-in statement with mysql

I have a small question. I have a couple of sql methods defined and depending on the search method I want to excute a specific one and return the results. I want to do something like this <dtml-if expr="search_method == '1'"> <dtml-in sql_1> <dtml-elif expr="search_method == '2'"> <dtml-in sql_2> </dtml-if> ... the rest of the the results the problem I have is that zope doesn't like me using dtml-in statements inside the if statements unless I copy the whole results page into the if statement. What I want to do is depending on what the search_method variable is I want to call a specific sql method without having to put all the code in each if statement. is there anyway to accomplish this. hope I have been clear enough. thanks in advance, --STEVE

I'm not sure if this would work, but you could try a <dtml-call> method like: <dtml-if expr="search_method == '1'"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('sql', sql_1)"> <dtml-elif> ... Then iterate over your results with: <dtml-in sql> do stuff here </dtml-in> Or use a python script as your logic, which is probably a better choice and easier to boot. Then have the script return the results of the ZSQL method.
