User Folder

Hello, I am looking for a User Folder that meets the following requirements: - login / logout with cookies - can easily associate additional data with users (e.g. phone#) - stable & well documented It would also be nice if adding SSL support was not too difficult to add. I have looked at mysqlUserFolder, but, being a beginner, I am a bit worried by the documentation that is not very polished. Any suggestion? Robert __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? button instead of textlink and checking selection

Hi all, 1) Instead of using the textlink Next I want to use a button (form) ? How to use OrderedFolder

Hello! I've install zope 2.7 which comes with OrderedFolder by default, but I can't understand how to use it. It doesn't have neither help nor readme file and looks just like ordinary folder. How do I order items in such folder? Eugene

cannot pack ZODB

I am still a newbie and today I tried to pack my ZODB, but that's not working. Turning debugging on doesn't help much: 2003-07-31T15:18:36 ERROR(200) ZODB packing Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/share/zope/zope-2.6.1/lib/python/ZODB/DB.py, line 499, in pack File /usr/share/zope/zope-2.6.1/lib/python/ZODB/FileStorage.py, line 1496, in pack (Object: /var/lib/zope/zope-2_6_1/var/Data.fs) IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/lib/zope/zope-2_6_1/var/Data.fs' How is it possible that I can edit my ZODB just fine (through plone), but I cannot pack it? Apparently, it fails on attempting to open Data.fs for reading (i.e. file=open(name, 'rb')). The file is owned by user zope and group zope-2_6_1, with rw permissions for both. Any ideas? SimpleUserFolder Advice

Hi List, I'm using SUF 0.9.0 on Zope2.6.1. I have to map the methods getProperty/setProperty of SUF's User-Object to ZSQL-Methods because we're using existing table structures from exUserFolders MySQLPropSource. Basically, I need to do a "user.getProperty('email')" (e.g. in a ZPT) to get a string with the current users email adress. This is working great. My Problem occurs when I want to get another Userobject from the Userfolder: uo=context.acl_users.getUser('anton') uo.getProperty('email') .. makes my Zope spin forever, my Browser keeps loading and loading, but nothing ever happens. Here's a snippet of what I added to User.py: def getProperty(self,key): parent=getattr(self,"aq_parent",None) context=getattr(parent,"aq_parent",None) # Check here later for context # Get Property from DB via ZSQL result=context.get_my_prop(myprop=key,myusername=self.name) return result[0][0] get_my_prop is a ZSQL Method and it works fine. I suspect "context" to break away within User.py at some point, maybe because the Object is not "wrapped" in Acquisition which would mean the ZSQL-Methods never get triggered (not sure exactly, somebody enlighten me plz). I also tried to let the Userfolder return User[dict].__of__(self) at some point, but that did not do the job either. Could someone point me to the right direction plz ? Creation of components for use across many sites.

Hi List, I've been working using Zope to build a set of components intended to be abstract and reusable. These components currently exist as folders, with each folder having a set of page templates, Python scripts, and SQL queries (and sometimes other stuff). The idea is that for a given site, I will declare that I am utilizing component X, and the component's default scripts and templates will allow for all the functionality I need. However, there are many cases where I need to override a given template or script in a component. I have this working to a degree, by having a folder called "site" in each component's folder, and in that folder I have the replacement scripts/templates/etc. Then I simply change my references like the following: "componentX/HTML/someTemplate" becomes: "componentX/HTML/site/HTML/someTemplate" "componentY/someScript" becomes: "componentY/site/someScript" As I said, this works. The problem is the folder that contains the components has to be copied to each site's root folder. What I would like is a system where in the root of my zope, I can have one folder for the components, and then in each sites folder, I can create the overriding scripts. This is complicated a slight bit by the fact that I need all URLs on a site to be within that site's folder. So I need to be able to call a URL like: "http://www.somesite.com/components/catalogue/buyStuff" and if I have overridden the "buyStuff" script, have it call the overridding script, but if I haven't, I need it to somehow acquire "zopeRoot/components/catalogue/buyStuff". I'm sure I haven't explained this properly, or there's something obvious I'm overlooking, so please ask questions as if I were terminally stupid :) Thanks for your time, Alec Munro

problem trying to run in debug mode

I'm having a problem trying to run in interactive debug mode. I have stopped my zope process. cd'ed to lib/python ran ../../bin/python import Zope, ZPublisher so far, everything is OK, the import works fine then, I try to view my root-level page: ZPublisher.Zope('/') I get: Status: 200 OK X-Powered-By: Zope (www.zope.org) Python (www.python.org) Content-Length: 0 ____________________________________________________________ that's it, that's all that displays. calling standart_html_header in python script

Interfaces to imported python modules

I seem to be having a problem accessing attributes and methods of objects created inside a custom Zope product from python scripts and ZPTs. I am not sure whether this is a misunderstanding of the security access rules described in the Zope Developer's Guide, or perhaps just the wrong way to think about exposing python objects to python scripts and ZPTs. The basic scenario in my product module is this from SomeWhereElse import ObjectA Class MyProduct( Folder.Folder, Persistent, Implicit ) def __init__( self ): self.dataObjects = [] def createAndAddDataObject( self ): self.dataObjects.append( Data( ) ) def getDataObjects( self ): """ return the dara """ return self.dataObjects Class Data: def __init__( self ): self.data = ObjectA() ---------- So not very interesting, and I have skipped all the usual product and _p_changed bits, I'm simply demonstrating the relationship between product class, a custom data class, and classes from SomeWhereElse. in SomeWhereElse, ObjectA creates and holds references to many other Objects of many different classes. The problem is that I can call a method such as getDataObjects from a python script and get back a list of objects of type Data. However I cannot access the attributes or methods of the ".data" attributes of these Data objects. No amount of setting the following in either the Product class or the Data class helps. __allow_access_to_unprotected_subobjects__=1 security = ClassSecurityInfo() security.setDefaultAccess("allow") The only option I feel I have is to explicitly define in Data or MyProduct getters/callers for all the methods and attributes of the classes defined in SomeWhereElse using proxy classes with the appropriate security settings set. This seems a bit cumbersome. Any pointers would be much appreciated. regards Matt

Calling Page Template with Dictionaries

We know we can do this: python script: foo='bar' return context['page_template'](arg=foo) and in page_template: Hello, arg is <p tal:content="string:${options/arg}"></p> What I'm hoping to find out, though, is whether I could call a ZPT with a dictionary.
