present data from db (multiple tables) using zpt
by Exteam 04 Jul '03

04 Jul '03

Hi, we are having a problem while presentation of values retreived from multi tables(from mysql) in ZPT we use zsql to retreive from each individual table. But while presentation part comes, we are unable to position the values from multi table in a single row . As it is apparant that a tr can repeat only a single table at a time by the tal functions. what we had tried is <tr repeat='item python:container.zsqlmethodname() > We want the Zpt to repeat more than one table in a single row. So that we could retreive the requisite values from the tables and present it. How can it be resolved. Thanks exteam SMS using the Yahoo! Messenger;Download latest version.

RE: [Zope] how to pass a variable stored in a REQUEST object from pages to pages
by Giuseppe Bonelli 04 Jul '03

pass it along with the url (if you don't mind expose them), i.e. in your display page use links like: <a href="targetURL?var1Name=<dtml-var var1Value>&var2Name=<dtml-var var2Value>">parameter passing</a>. In the targetURL you wil use the parameters as <dtml-var var1Name>, <dtml-var var2Name>. Be carefull not to have spaces or other reserved chars in the url string, otherwise some browser (Netscape 4.5, for example) will not display the page. If you need to use that reserver chars, urlencode the string. other possibility (it will hide the variables from the url seen in the browser): call REQUEST.set method in your display page. --peppo -----Original Message----- From: zope-admin(a)zope.org [mailto:zope-admin@zope.org]On Behalf Of Jean Baltus Sent: venerdi 4 luglio 2003 15.33 To: zope(a)zope.org Cc: VIGNAUX Philippe Subject: [Zope] how to pass a variable stored in a REQUEST object from pages to pages Hi all, How can I pass a variable stored in a REQUEST object to different pages WITHOUT using a form. Example: I have a page (.page template) called 'display' which receives information from a previous page. The information received is in . Request -> form -> afield On that 'display' page, I have several links to other pages, how can I transmit the same information (Request -> form -> afield) to the linked pages, so that they can use those values as well? object instance from script
by Aurélien Campéas 04 Jul '03

I apologize in advance if this is some kind of FAQ, nervertheless, here's my quesion : I build some simple Product some days ago. It's accessible from the ZMI and works as expected. However, I really need it to be instanciated not from the ZMI but from one python script. The exact course of action remains quite unclear, even after reading huge amounts of various docs. The products is 'Candidat'. Here's what I put in some dumb script : print "Hello from build_candidat" cand = context.manage_addProduct['Candidat'] try: one_c = cand ("M", "A", "B", "add", "mail", "bp", "ville", "tel", "cv", "motiv") except Exception, e: print e print cand return printed when executed, I get this : Hello from build_candidat __call__ <__FactoryDispatcher__ instance at 9089dc0> No comment about 1st line. Second line is the exception ('cand' not callable ???) Third line tells us about what is 'cand'. I'm sure there's something simple to do around those lines, but it's a little bit hard to find the right info... Thank you for your patience, Aurélien.

Read the Zope book, there is a section (under Users and security) where says how you can create an emergency user, then you can set the password of the user 'admin'. Regards, Josef
