plone_3rdParty
by Stephan Goeldi 01 Jul '03

01 Jul '03

I already searched the list and plone.org about plone_3rdParty but cannot find information about how to integrate the ratings_box into my plone site. The normal path via properties is clear and works for the standard boxes, but not for this ratings_box from Plone_3rdParty. What is different here? And how can one access the other products found in Plone_3rdParty? TIA Stephan

How big is the biggest known Zope Web Site ?
by Laurent.Soissons＠fr.consulting.fujitsu.com 01 Jul '03

How big is the biggest known Zope Web Site ? 'How big' means to me things like : How many concurrent visitors at a time ? Internet bandwidth ? Database size ? Number of physical servers/processors ? Another question of big interest to my current project : Is Zope suitable to manage a 'transactional' web site? I mean a web site where each different visitor gets pages with different content. Thanks for every answer !

: Odesílatel: Norman Khine <khine(a)aimwell.org> : hello, : i am trying to create an email from zope that can send the email in : both plain text and html, so that users who only use text can view : it, as well as those who have html enabled. Best and simplest way: send mail from desired mailclient to your and look into mail source and headers. I use this method with success. JL.

Re: [Zope] Solved: More dtml-in sequenceing and cocatenation

: Odesílatel: hpinson(a)indepthl.com : To get multiple form checkboxes to load their state from a SQL : generated dynamic list: : : <dtml-in SQL_getMath> : <input type="checkbox" name="dance<dtml-var sequence-number>" : value="1" <dtml-if expr="_['math' + _.str(_['sequence-number'])] == : 1">checked</dtml-if>> : <dtml-var standard_text><br> : </dtml-in> : : In particular: : : expr="_['dance' + _.str(_['sequence-number'])] == 1" : : I wonder if this would be easier in ZPT. The mixing of Python and : DTML tripped me up. In ZPT you could have reach app limit, where you could not make app with ZPT and you need make logic in python script. but with DTML I does not reach this limit, all is possible to make with DTML. But one-line python code in DTML is normal in some tags, like IF, IN, LET, WITH, VAR, CALL etc. This code is more readable than ZPT. But ZPT is better when you give pages back to your designer with default configuration of their WYSIWYG editor (is possible to edit <a href="<dtml-var some>">text</a> in properly configured frontpage 2k without destroying! But in FP-XP is some things impossible) JL.

: Odesílatel: hpinson(a)indepthl.com : Thanks Dieter. I knew it was a syntax error. I'm really close I : think: : : >> You probably want computed variable access: : >> "_['math_' + _['sequence-number']] == 1" : : Results in the Zope error: : : Error Type: TypeError : Error Value: cannot add type "int" to string : : This seems odd. I thought + was the python overloaded string : cocatenation symbol, i.e. 'hel'+'lo' is 'hello'? I am playing with : using the python str() function, but no results yet. Did you try "_[str('math_') + str(_['sequence-number'])] == 1" ? JL.

zope 2.7 with python 2.3
by anton 01 Jul '03

01 Jul '03

I have the simple question: Why not? zope 2.7 is said to be based on python 2.2, but wouldn't it be nicer to base it on python 2.3, so the coming zope 3 and the zope 2.7 would share this big issue (backporting, and..) Stephan

question about rewriting and vhm
by Gerard Braad 01 Jul '03

01 Jul '03

Hello Zopers, i have a problem with a rewriting i use... at first i had authorization errors, so i ended up using VHM... i'm using zope behind apache, so my webserver takes care of the virtualhosting. i use apache also for static hosting of files, like images and logos... so i placed my zope in a rewritten directory called z... so if i open //somehost.com/z/ it opens my zope sites and with //somehost.com/ i can access imagery served by apache the problem is that all my a hrefs containing ./ are not automatically rewritten to ./z/ or /z/. is it possible to make this work? have tried rewriting it, but did not succeed... this is my apache rewriterule.... RewriteRule ^/z(.*) /home/internet/cgi-bin/zope.cgi/VirtualHostBase/http/%{HTTP_HOST}:80/sites/somehost.com/gbraad/VirtualHostRoot$1 \ [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] greets, Gerard --
