But person who originally wrote that application also wrote an external method to export the objects' data. Because he knew what objects were there and their fields. But that is more than year old and application was changed too much after that. I used his script to export data and tried to write create table and insert into statements using java and xml. But problem is that xml script doesn't export all data. For some fields, where there is no value, node for that is either not created or an empty child node is created. So when I try to use loops to extract data and then write insert into statements, insert into statements result in field count error. For example if an object had 25 fields, sometimes 20 and sometime 25 or less fields are created. There are so many tables so I cannot hard code values for each table. Even if I tried to hard code values by counting when looping I don't know how many actual fields are there. Also wrong data is inserted in fields when any empty value is skipped by that python script. external method problems...

I'm guessing that there is some kind of permission problem, although I don't know why calling it via the url anonymously (http://...../getRecords) returns the same as the test... is there something that I am missing in tal to call the external method that requires setting some permissions ? CatalogBrains getObject raised an error

I'm experiencing an error that I haven't seen yet. Is there a simple resolution to this ? I need to have this site ready for production and don't want to ship it with an error that I don't understand. I have a DTML page where users can choose location(s) to link to a hypothesis. So there's an HTML multiple selection field. I have code that calls SQL to insert multiple selections and code that calls the SQL insert for a single entry. My question is how do get Zope to differentiate between the two scenarios and use the appropriate code. It's some sort of <dtml-if > logic... This tag calls the SQL query to inset a single selection <dtml-call "queries.updateHypPlace()"> This code iterates through the sequence and calls the SQL to insert each one <dtml-in place prefix=obj> <dtml-call "queries.updateHypPlace(place=obj_item , huid=hid)"> </dtml-in> What I have in mind is <dtml-if ????> <dtml-call "queries.updateHypPlace()"> <dtml-else ????> <dtml-in place prefix=obj> <dtml-call "queries.updateHypPlace(place=obj_item , huid=hid)"> </dtml-in> </dtml-if> Suggestions? bug in catalog?

Hi, I'm having a problem with the zope catalog in combination with an apache rewrite rule and I think that it is a bug of the catalog. I'm using the folloing RewriteRule to which points to the directory /brk. RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://127.0.0.1:8070/VirtualHostBase/https/foo.bar:443/brk/VirtualHostRoot… [L,P] When an item is added it gets indexed to a catalog which is located in the folder /brk. self.index_object() This is where the problem occurs. The 'Object Identifier' of the item is /edit/Berichtverwaltung/20030626213201.0.875058372091 and not /brk/edit/Berichtverwaltung/20030626213201.0.875058372091 as it should be. The 'path' key and the rest of the variables that get indexed are correct. But if I try to access an item with a wrong 'Object Identifier' with path = re.match("(.*)/edit/.+?/.+?", object.getObject().absolute_url()).groups()[0] an AttributeError is raised. Exception Type AttributeError Exception Value 'None' object has no attribute 'absolute_url' If I delete the wrong entry of the catalog and reindex it with 'Find Object' the 'Object Identifier' has the missing '/brk' and the error doesn't occur. If I update the catalog with 'manage_catalogReindex' while it contains some of the wrong entries they are deleted. Any ideas what is wrong? Tracking down 'Unauthorized...' errors

Morning all, I feel pretty slow this morning. I've used the product before but don't know what it's called or where to find it... How do I track down 'Unauthorized...' errors in the 'error_log'? I've activated the error log to show Authorization errors, but it's simply not enough information to go on. Thanks for any help/pointers I can get. Regards, Samir

curious list problem

Hello all, In python I would normally do the following to make a associative array (with an element that is a list) empty: thing['items'] = [] This seems like such a minor thing to do, but I can't seem to get this to work with DTML. How would I do the equivalent in DTML??? I've tried using REQUEST.set() and also just a straight dtml-call expression, and neither seemed to work. I'd appreciate some help or guidance. ~Mark
