If you are running a recent version of Zope, you should find all your errors in the error log. Go to http://nameofyourzopeserver/error_log/ and look there for the error. If your version of zope is older, you may find the traceback in the HTML source code of the error page. Zope on Mac OS X 10.2.6 with Puthon 2.2.3

Hi Complete novice when it comes to Python and Zope - but I've decided that it's time to learn. For those of you who don't like to read subject lines, environment is Mac OS X 10.2.6. I've followed Jens' instructions "Zope and Python on Mac OS X 10.1 and higher" and see a failure when building Zope. The error thrown is: building 'Products.PluginIndexes.TextIndex.Splitter.ISO_8859_1_Splitter.ISO_8859_ 1_Splitter' extension error: file 'Products/PluginIndexes/TextIndex/Splitter/ISO_8859_1_Splitter/src/ ISO_8859_1_Splitter.c' does not exist Traceback (most recent call last): File "wo_pcgi.py", line 45, in ? if __name__=='__main__': main(sys.argv[0]) File "wo_pcgi.py", line 33, in main import build_extensions File "/usr/local/source/Zope-2.6.1-src/inst/build_extensions.py", line 24, in ? do('%s setup.py build_ext -i' % sys.executable) File "/usr/local/source/Zope-2.6.1-src/inst/do.py", line 32, in do if i and picky: raise SystemError, i SystemError: 256 Would someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? How to use PythonWin IDE with Zope 2.6

Hi again, I try to use PythonWin IDE with Zope 2.6 and after some registry hacks installed win32-all build 151 successfully and even got it running properly. I can browse the PythonPath nicely and see even L:\Zope\Zope262\lib\python\ZTUtils\Zope.py The _only drawback_, I cannot import Zope >>> import Zope Traceback (most recent call last): File "<interactive input>", line 1, in ? ImportError: No module named Zope Even trying all the hints I found on the web nothing seem to work. (setting the environment variable PYTHONHOME to myZope\bin or setting the PythonPath to: L:\Zope\Zope262\bin;L:\Zope\Zope262\bin\lib;L:\Zope\Zope262\bin\DLLs;L:\Zope \Zope262\bin\lib\lib-tk;L:\Zope\Zope262\bin\Pythonwin;L:\Zope\Zope262\lib\py thon;L:\Zope\Zope262\lib\python\ZTUtils What else can I do to get it done? Dear all, I've changed Survey.py and I got error when I try to enter a survey (I used PMPSurvey), the error is : Error Type : Attribute Error Error Value : voted When I use link 'Voters', I got an error like this : Error Type : Name Error Error Value : name 'voted' is not defined. login problems

Hi, We have installed zope-2.6.2b2-1.i386.rpm downloaded from zope.org. we have used red-carpet (ximian product) to install the zope on red hat 8 linux . But we r unable to login, coz, redcarpet takes care of the complete installation process, including the choice of uname & pwd. We have followed the steps in security.txt & the details in http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/current/Security.stx HOw ever , we are unable to login. We are also unable to find either inituser or access file in zope's root folder. Plz help us to resolve this. How to access the properties of a structured text document in a monkeyPatch

Hi, to extend the standart StructuredText tool of zope via monkey patch I need to acces the stx-object's properties. Does anybody know how to do that? In the patch ( a __init.py__ in ../python/Products/myPatch/) I guess to use something like getattr(obj, 'myPropertyId'). But how to get reference to the obj? Thanks for any help Elena

I don't think it's neither a browser nor a zope problem, I tried to open the link with netscape v7.02 and it didn't work either, I got a time out error. I also downloaded it with flashget and tried to open it locally. It took a long time to Acrobat reader v5.0 to show it and the right margin hide some text. I guess the problem resides in the PDF File itself; perhaps you could try to generate it again. Regards, Josef
