Defining a dictionary in ZPT?

Hi I've got this piece of code which is returning a keyerror on 'results' as I haven't set up a dictionary for the variables. I'm not sure what the syntax is for this within the ZPT. I've read about the 'options' dictionary. Can I use that? Calendar Tag Product question

Zope Version (Zope 2.9.7-final, python 2.4.3, linux2) Python Version 2.4.3 (#1, Mar 14 2007, 18:51:08) [GCC 4.1.1 20070105 (Red Hat 4.1.1-52)] System Platform linux2 We are using Corporate Calendar which requires the Calendar product for CalendarTag.py. I have written a replacement for us for Corporate Calendar, not as a product yet, to load faster and allow more features, there are 13 calendars all using the exact same dtml and a view for today's events from all calendars. Both of these use the Calendar product to draw the calendar. I put the ones I had written out for users to start testing yesterday and one minor problem was fixed and a feature added, otherwise the calendars were fine. Today, November 1, on both calendars not all events are appearing in the calendar from the default view. If you click back to October and then back to November all of the events appear, this also sets the date-calendar parameter in the URL to November 9. I have found that if the date-calendar parameter is 1,2,3, or 4 not all the events will display in the Corporate Calendar or the calendar I wrote so I suspect the Calendar Product itself. folder like shortcut / symlink / pointer / urlredirect

Hello The DTML code below populates a large menu with folders and their descriptions, however one of the items in the menu should now point to a URL on a different server. I tried all the item specified in th "Document Library". But that install procedure checks-out complete Zope3 package and tries to compile and run it. I dont see any documentation related to this in their site. I agree that my request here is more related to "Document LIbrary" and just wondering if someone in this group tried it. Document Library & Zope

Dear Group, I am new to Zope and I am helping few students on their academic project. The project is to create a simple Document Management System workflow. we are evaluating various option and I came across the module INFRAE's "Document Library'. BUt I cannot install it in my Zope3 or Zope 2.10.4. As per the Document Library's install.txt it is trying to install a new Zope. Is there any way I could install in my existing Zope. Appreciate any pointers in this regard. Best regards Dominic PS: I would like to know how to integrate with Silva (Hope this is not related to this group)

Slicing a lazy sequence

Hi, I'm looking at a performance issue with a site. Part of the problem seems to be the time taken to load all the attributes to construct a large number of brain objects. I think I remember reading somewhere once that if you slice a sequence of catalog results as follows: rs = portal_catalog.searchResults(portal_type='my_type') return rs[10:30] or even <dtml-in "portal_catalog.searchResults(portal_type='my_type')" start=10 size=20> that this "undoes" the advantage of the lazy sequence, as it has to iterate over all the items in the sequence to produce the slice. Is this correct or have I just imagined it - can anyone confirm?! And if I haven't imagined it, how can I do this more efficiently? Thanks, Miles

backup full instances

Hello, We have several different zope instances running on our servers, and currently the only backup we do is a daily copy of the Data.fs. The main problem with this backup approach is, that the zope instance is not stopped for the backup at all, thus the Data.fs might not be up to date. Is it safe in general to copy Data.fs while the instance is running? Or might I end up with a broken Data.fs, which zope is not able to read at all? And which other ways to you know to backup an entire instance? Maybe sync it with ZEO to another server in realtime? Or use some export method? thanks in advance, jonas
