Could somebody please post the link? OK, I think I found it: http://cvs.zope.org/ZODB3/ZODB/?cvsroot=Zope It seems that I have to replace fspack.py and fsrecover.py. Do I have to replace something else? By the way, I have Zope 2.6.1, will just replacing the files solve the problem? or do the files have any dependencies on 2.6.2b1? Regards, Josef

Problem with importing (PerlMethod)
by Christian Schaefer 20 May '03

20 May '03

Hi, I want to transfer a Zope object by exporting it on the one Zopeserver and import it on another. Exporting worked fine but when I copied the resulting .zexp-File to the import-directory of the other Zopeinstallation and tried to import it I got the following error: Error Type: ImportError Error Value: No module named PerlMethod Any idea? Bye, Chris

Hello Does someone have an old version of python-ldap? I need it because I'm working on windows... With the current version, there are lots of bugs, and when you think it'll work, it says that it needs openLDAP!!!!!! I just want something to authenticate users against ldap. Thank you for your help...

Re: Need help!! Compile error "ld: fatal: library -lmysqlclient: not found"

No output written to build/lib.solaris-2.8-sun4u-2.1/_mysql.so > collect2: ld returned 1 exit status > error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 I think your system is missing an external package "mysqlclient" needed by zope. You have to download the binary for your plattform or compile it from source. Regards, Josef

MSIE desperate Measures
by Michael Geddert 20 May '03

20 May '03

Hi all, We are encountering heavy problems trying to get MSIE to work properly with Zope. (No, we don't like MSIE either, but we've got to get this working for a client.) We've set up a form (with Formulator) which should send data to a script once. But MSIE 6 (with spack 1 applied) does more than that ... MSIE sends the POST-Request from the form at least twice, sometimes even 3 to 4 times. Sniffing with Ethereal confirmed this weird behaviour (at least 2 Posts from MSIE, 1 Response from Zope). The Problem is that the form-action-object (in our case a python-script) gets triggered 2-3 times as well, which is definitely *not* what we want. (This is how we first noticed the problem, the script sent 3 mails instead of one) Any help would be more than appreciated. Examining Properties of Returned Object
by Samir Mishra 20 May '03

20 May '03

Hello all, I'm sure there's a way, just can't figure it out... I have a python script returning an object. The result set I'm actually interested in is wrapped somewhere within this object. My question: how can I examine the properties/methods of an object returned by Python? Thanks in advance. Regards, Samir

RE: [Zope] Upload files, set properties, search props
by John Toews 20 May '03

Thank you, pointing out I could do this without a Zclass is going to save me time... The one thing I don't understand right now. The code below adds a property to the containing folder, not the object I just uploaded. How do I obtain the id so I can deal with that? (objects is the name of my folder, it is a level under the script itself) <dtml-call expr="objects.manage_addFile(id='', file=file, title='test')"> <dtml-call expr="objects.manage_addProperty('keywords', keywords, 'text')"> I think the second one should be something like objects.UPLOADED_FILE_ID.manage_addProperty... There are examples of adding and changing properties. e.g. in the script that's the target of your form, do something like this to add a single property: request = context.REQUEST my_folder.manage_addProperty('keywords', request.get('keywords'), 'text') > - Catalog the keywords property and be able to search it (Haven't even > attempted yet) no problem, just give youtr catalog a KeywordIndex with the name of your property. > I believe the "correct" way to do this would be a Zclass using the File > base class and a property sheet. not necessary, the above will work. the only advantage of a custom Product (whether zclass or filesystem-based product) is that it can be made to support automatic cataloging so you don't have to periodically update the catalog. -- Paul Winkler home: http://www.slinkp.com "Muppet Labs, where the future is made - today!" _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Syntax checker for Zope
by Dennis Allison 20 May '03

20 May '03

Is there a syntax checking module for Zope, a program that can be used to help find those bugs that generate inscrutable error messages and not a hint as to where the real problem lies? Every so ofen I have a Zope object that's in error--a misplaced quote, an extra or missing bit of markup (dtml or html)--but finding it is a lengthy and frustrating process. A tool would be helpful. I've ggogled about looking but have not found anything. Pointers?

structuredText vs ReStructureDocument
by David Bear 20 May '03

20 May '03

I'm confused again -- or just perpetually. I've used the structured text product in the past and liked it. Well, with zope 2.6 and cmf it appears structure text has been buried into other products but is not itself and 'product' I can use directly, ie add it from the zmi. So, I found ReStructuredText which appears to replace StructuredText. fine. I added it. However, I note that there doesn't seem to be a way to add a 'Title' property to the ReStructuredText object when it is created. Am I missing something very obvious here or it it not possible to modify the title property on this product? -- David Bear phone: 480-965-8257 fax: 480-965-9189 College of Public Programs/ASU Wilson Hall 232 Tempe, AZ 85287-0803 "Beware the IP portfolio, it will make criminals out of innovators"
