You don't need (or want since it is depreciated..) the ldaploginmanager as this is all bundles into the ldapuserfolder. -----Original Message----- From: walid aoudi [mailto:aoudiwalid@yahoo.fr] Sent: Tuesday, 15 April 2003 1:13 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] problem with ZOPE products (ldaploginadapter and ldapuserfolder) i am using zope 2.6.1 python 2.1.3 i have also installed python ldap i am using the Products LDAPuserFolder and LDAPLoginAdapter and i have these error messages : Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/OFS/Application.py", line 541, in import_product product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/Products/LDAPLoginAdapter/__init__.py", line 13, in ? import LDAPLoginAdapter File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/Products/LDAPLoginAdapter/LDAPLoginAdapter.py", line 23, in ? from LDAPShared import LDAPShared, ldap_scopes File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/Products/LDAPLoginAdapter/LDAPShared.py", line 21, in ? import _ldap ImportError: ~1G: shared object not open and Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/OFS/Application.py", line 541, in import_product product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/Products/LDAPUserFolder/__init__.py", line 15, in ? from LDAPUserFolder import addLDAPUserFolderForm, \ File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/Products/LDAPUserFolder/LDAPUserFolder.py", line 34, in ? from LDAPUser import LDAPUser File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/Products/LDAPUserFolder/LDAPUser.py", line 20, in ? from utils import _verifyUnicode, encoding File "/usr/local/Zope2/lib/python/Products/LDAPUserFolder/utils.py", line 34, in ? ldap_scopes = (ldap.SCOPE_BASE, ldap.SCOPE_ONELEVEL, ldap.SCOPE_SUBTREE) AttributeError: 'ldap' module has no attribute 'SCOPE_BASE' please help i don't know what to do ___________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? -- Une adresse @yahoo.fr gratuite et en français ! Sending DB data via SESSION manager
by Braun Brelin 14 Apr '03

14 Apr '03

[I originally sent this e-mail to the Zope-DB list, but in reviewing it, this may be more of a question for the general list] Hello, I've built a formulator form that connects to a database to populate many of the fields in the form. I'm using the MySQL DB adapter and I've written a python script to access it and return the data via the SESSION Manager like so... for (key, value) in recordset.items(): context.REQUEST.SESSION.set(key,value) This, however isn't precisely what I want. If I create two separate instances of the formulator form (i.e. I do a copy/paste from the master form object into my own folder more than once) The second form gets the same datavalues automatically rendered into the field as the first form. What I want, instead, is in the SESSION object to set a dictionary where each key would be the form ID and the value would be another dictionary containing the database field values. How do I go about doing this? I tried doing something like this: context.REQUEST.SESSION.set(MyFormsDict,{}) but that fails with an "unhashable type" error. Is what I'm attempting even possible with the SESSION object? Any thoughts? Thanks, Braun Brelin ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/

Pluggable brains sample using Script (Python)
by Julian Sanchez 14 Apr '03

14 Apr '03

Hi, I was wondering if somebody has a handy example on how to use pluggable brains inside python scripts. For the most part I've only seen the sample in which you have a class: class MyDataClass: def getSomething(self): return self.field1 + self.field2 and then you have a DTML method that goes something like <dtml-in myquery> <dtml-var getSomething> </dtml-in> How would I access the MyDataClass if I were to write a python script rather than a DTML method? Thanks for your help, Julian

A product for news
by Fabio Rolando 14 Apr '03

14 Apr '03

Hi everybody. I am developing a higly customized publishing service without using any CMS. I need to let the administrators of my service (using ZMI) to insert and publish some news that would then be automatically be published in web pages and removed depending on the date. I do know about CMS that offer such a functionality but they also come with whole bunch of things that I don' t need in this context. Can anybody be so kind to point me to a some products that might help me for this. Thanks a lot. Fabio

Sharing this class
by Nicolas Évrard 14 Apr '03

14 Apr '03

Hello, I've done this little class to add comments to files, news items, photos, ... I'm wondering how can I do it in zope. Should I put this class in the python hierarchy or put it in a Product (will it be visible from other products ?) Btw, the functions genKey and isChild seems a little too simplistic, do you have any idea for a better implemantation ? -- (°> Nicolas Évrard / ) Liège - Belgique ^^

Uploading a File and getting the files list from Zope
by Zope＠Stylus 14 Apr '03

14 Apr '03

Hi all I am working on Zope2.5.1 Page Templates installed on Mandrake Linux 8.3 .The RDBMS I am using is Postgresql-7.2.2. On going through the examples that come as apart of Zope Installation I noticed the python Function addFile Script (Python) at /Examples/FileLibrary/addFile This allows a user to add a file to the directory "Files" in the Examples/FileLibrary Folder. This folder also has examples of getFiles and getSize getLink ###I am including the the addFile and getFiles code here .... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- """addFile(file) Adds a file to the library. """ from Products.PythonScripts.standard import url_quote # create the file container.Files.manage_adProduct['OFSP'].manage_addFile(id='', title='', file=file) .......................... ........................... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- """getFiles(sort='id', reverse=0) Returns a list of files sorted by id, date, type or size. """ files=container.Files.objectValues('File') # build arguments for sequence.sort if sort=='id': if not reverse: args=(('getId',),) else: args=(('getId', 'cmp', 'desc'),) .............. ............................ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- In this case the container where the new file or Folder is to be added ("container.Files") is explicitly stated. So if i call this function from some other file and try to add a file it again adds a file in the "Files" container. I am having a Content management System made using Zope although not exactly implementing the full functionality of the CMF. This System allows a user based on permisions to add Folders and files which can be viewed by others. The problem here is that when a folder is added I will need to include by default the addFile, getFiles, getSize, getLink (Examples Folder at Root of the Zope Installation Web Interface) python scripts in all New folders added by a user. That means 4 new files have to be added to a new Folder everytime I add a folder. These four Python Scripts will have to be aded dynamically when i create a new Folder so that if I add it will accpet the current conatiner as the default container for adding a file into.I am not sure how I will be able to change the scripting in the Python files if necessary at run time either or how to write into or read from a file at runtime....Anyway that is going away from my problem..... Also if it is necessary to add a file by default in a folder when a new folder is created what function can I call??(For e.g if I add a new Folder Object I am asked if I want a public interface and on saying yes a new Page Temlpate called index_html is added ) But if I had only these 4 Python Scripts (addFile, getFiles, getSize, getLink ) at the root of my application and i could tell the function when I called it... in which container to add the file then the whole issue would be resolved althought I dont know how to.. By sending the conatiner path as a string it is not going to work because the adFile, getFile scripts expects a Container Object. Can you suggest how I can keep the four files at the Root of my application and keep adding files in to any of the Subfolders by passing the reference of that particular subFolder or container.I am sure that there is some way to do it.But I dont know how.. > OK. Fantastic > It plays smoothly. Only one more question. Is possible make any user have > always this content editor? I don´t permit my users change their > preferences... I think it is possible, perhaps you will have to change the script where the user's prefferences are set. I don't know where it is because I don't develop under plone, I'm just testing it. I think the most appropiate place to search/ask would be in: http://plone.org/development/lists Regards, Josef

Re: [Zope] Groups and Roles
by Pierre-Julien Grizel 14 Apr '03

14 Apr '03

Hi, You can do both, but setting roles in GrpA is surely better ! (you do not have to process individuals but only work on groups). Regarding LDAP : In LDAPUserFolder, LDAP "groups" are bound to Zope "roles". So if you want to make LDAPUF's groups to appear as GroupUserFolder groups, you've got to put an LDAPUF in GRUF's Users section and another LDAPUF in GRUF's Groups section. Binding will be done automatically if Zope roles match LDAP groups, or you've got to set binding by hand in LDAPUF's interface. We've been working happily with the LDAPUserFolder/GroupUserFolder combination, and we should provide an detailed explanation on how to do so in GRUF's README.txt file soon ! :-) Regards, P.-J.
