neverending thread: zope ssl apache
by patrick sullivan 12 Apr '03

Howdy: I am trying to get zope/cmf/plone to run behind apache/ssl. Ultimately, users will login via PAM to the intranet and access the site over https. Got apache and mod_ssl to work. Got apache and zope and rewrite and vhm to work. Can not get the whole shebang together to work happily. Right now i can go to: http://my.site.com and apache forwards the request to: http://my.site.com:8080/myzopesite and everything is good. Can go to: https://my.site.com and brings up the default apache page on port 443. I have tried quite a few differnet versions of this in the httpd.conf. Here is current (all of the SSL stuff is elsewhere in httpd.conf, is this a problem?) <VirtualHost 10.0.0.174> ServerName mems.zyvex.com RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/mems.zyvex.com:80/VirtualHostRoo… [P,L] </VirtualHost> I have run out of place to bang my head on, some suggestions would be nice. Thanks, patrick

Propblem with script from Zope book
by Jamie 11 Apr '03

I'm having problems running this example script from the Zope Book, Advanced Scripting Chapter, p. 183 """ Returns all sub-objects that have a given status property. """ results=[] for object in context.objectValues(): if object.getProperty('status') == status: results.append(object) return results It seems to be starting an endless loop or something, the browser can sit for a half an hour and still not change. Resouce not found can't be caught
by Thomas Guettler 11 Apr '03

11 Apr '03

Hi! The resource not found exception can't be caught. I tried the following: def unitTest(self, REQUEST): "docstring" try: self._unitTest(REQUEST) except: import traceback traceback.print_exc() But I get the meaningless page: """ Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Resource not found Sorry, the requested resource does not exist. Check the URL and try again. Resource: QWERTZUIOP GET """ Why is the exception in _unitTest not caught by my exception handler? I would like to have a stacktrace. Yesterday I had a related strange behaviour: raise AssertionError behaved different than assert(0) the first was ignored, while the second did print the stacktrace (With <dtml-var error_tb> in standard_error_message) thomas -- Thomas Guettler <guettli(a)thomas-guettler.de> http://www.thomas-guettler.de

Does UndoPack.pat from http://collector.zope.org/Zope/875 work with 2.5.1?
by Sven Rudolph 11 Apr '03

11 Apr '03

Hello all, I'm running zope-2.5.1 (Python-2.1.3, Linux) and just ran acroos the bug described in http://collector.zope.org/Zope/875. It says the patch works with 2.6.1. Is there a chance to apply it to 2.5.1? (I guess not :-( ) Thanks in advance Sven Rudolph -- Sven Rudolph, Programmierer Medical Tribune Verlagsgesellschaft mbH Unter den Eichen 5, 65195 Wiesbaden Tel.: 06 11 / 97 46 25 2

zope + apache + rewrite
by Ruslan Spivak 11 Apr '03

11 Apr '03

Hello, zope users. I need help. i have apache + zope + VHM configuration: <VirtualHost www.is.lg.ua:5000> ServerName www.is.lg.ua RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://192.168.1.1:6080/VirtualHostBase/ http/www.is.lg.ua:5000/is/VirtualHostRoot/$1 [L,P] ProxyVia on </VirtualHost> In root of zope i have /is folder. All this works, but in apache /cgi-bin directory i have irc.cgi script and i need to call www.is.lg.ua:5000/chat so that www.is.lg.ua:5000/cgi-bin/irc.cgi will be called. I tried 'ScriptAlias /chat /cgi-bin/irc.cgi' inside VirtualHost, but that doesn't work, because all mapping goes to zope, so i need probably the rewrite rule, but dunno how to make it work. Maybe you can help me with that? Your help is very, very appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ruslan

Reverse Aquisition!
by Mark Stangroom 11 Apr '03

11 Apr '03

I know aquistion in Zope works it way up the tree until it reaches the root so you can embed one document in another when its higher up the tree. Is it possible to do this in reverse so that i can embed a document which is in a sub directory lower down the tree? Hope this makes sense! Thanks Mark Stangroom

Re: Processing ZSQL results

Maik, Ed, Thanks for the help. It took a bit of tweaking, but basically Maik was right. So this now works... <dtml-in mutein_id prefix=list> <dtml-if sequence-odd> <tr bgcolor='#7685bE'> <dtml-else> <tr bgcolor='#A5C7CC'> </dtml-if> <dtml-in expr="retrieveOligoData(mutein_id = list_item)"> <td align='center'><dtml-var mutein_id></td> <td align='center'><dtml-var molecule></td> <td align='center'><dtml-var vendor></td> <td align='center'><dtml-var vendor_id></td> ...... <dtml-else> <td colspan='15'>No data for <dtml-var list_item></td> </dtml-in> </tr> </dtml-in> One more question though...what does prefix=list do in <dtml-let> and why is it required? (this doesn't work if that snippet is removed) Why won't sequence-item work instead of list_item? My first guess would be something like this: <dtml-in yourIdList prefix=list> <dtml-let result="getResults(id=list_item)"> <dtml-if result> <tr><td><dtml-var ID></td</tr> <dtml-else> <tr><td>No Data</td></tr> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> Cheers, Maik

Processing ZSQL results
by Mark Evans 11 Apr '03

11 Apr '03

Hi all, I should know this, but here goes anyway. I want to retrieve data from a table if an id that is submitted from a form is present. If I submit three id's, but only two are present in the table, two results are returned. I want to trap the missing id and display a "no data found" message. How can I do this? <table> <dtml-in getResults> <tr><td><dtml-var ID></td</tr> <dtml-else> <tr><td>No Data</td></tr> </dtml-in> This shows only the two results. The <dtml-else> is triggered only if none of the three ID's are present. Thanks, Mark Evans
