ZopeProfiler provides profiling support for the development of Zope applications. It can derive both high and low level timing statistics (Zope object call and Python function call level, respectively). Unlike with the standard Zope profiling support, Zope runs normally in multi-threaded mode. Statistics gathering can be enabled/disabled dynamically via the ZopeProfiler object in the Control_Panel. This objects supports most features of Python's pstats.Stats timing analysis class and is much smarter than the standard Zope profiler. Should the features be insufficient, then statistics data can be saved to files and later analysed with Python's Stats class. Acquisition and/or Traversal ?

Needing a starting point to understand how traversal and acquisition work, would you give me some hints to solve the type of problem below ? In this example company, a subsidiary must establish proposal based on a product list. If it doesn't have products, it must use the headquarter's ones. 1 with this hierarchy, how can i reach the Product list in the Products Folder from Proposal 1 of Subsidiary 1 ? 2 If Products weren't folder but objects and items weren't contained objects but properties of Products, would the solution be the same ? XML-RPC Error

HI all I am working on an VB.NET client side application that sends requests in XML-RPC to a Zope server running on Linux(Mandrake 8.0) The request calls a python script and it returns a String . But when there are multiple requests (i.e; from different machines on the network) .the XmlRPc Server throws an XML RPC Fault Error. Does XML-RPC Server maintain a record of the IP address of the client machine that sent the request so that it can respond back to the same machine? I am confused as to how exactly the Xml Rpc Server understands where the response is to be sent. Is the error arising because the Server is not sending the response back to the Client from which the request came. I am capturing the IP of the machine from which the request comes and so am able to track if the request comes from a particular machine. 1) I want to clarify if I have to explicitly send the response to the client with respect to the IP I have captured...IF so how can I do this with the exisiting xmlrpc library.Where can I specify which machine the response is to be sent to. 2)Can I send a response to a machine other than the machine from which the request came? 3)Is request and response automatically handled by the XMl RPC server? problem with uploading files

this is a question concerning the uploading of files with the zope ftp-server. i want to store a html document in a directory (within cmf). i tried to upload the documents with several images. the images were stored successfully but not the html-files. any suggestions for this problem? i am using the current win32 version of zope and cmf. i also have root rights. stefan

Niewbie: DTML namespace

I'm sorry for this (maybe) silly question, probably I didn't undestand the DTML namespace very well. I have this code quite similare to the guest book on the Zope Book example. <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('docRef', _[docId])"> <p> <b> <dtml-with docRef> On <dtml-var "getProperty('date')" fmt="aCommon">  <dtml-var "getProperty('guest_name')" html_quote> says: <br> </dtml-with> <dtml-var docRef html_quote newline_to_br> </b> </p> docId is passed as parameter by a link (something like: <a href="Folder/MethodName?docId=entry>, where entry is the name of a DTML Document) My problem is the variable docRef doesn't reference the object. I can't nor access the properties neither the methods. Result of this is: On None, None says: <text in docRef> Do I get the reference in a wrong way? ZPT for database manipulation

Is there a ZPT framework or some other tool I can use to integrate a database manipulation interface within my ZPT-base site? I want users to be able to pull a record from a database into a web form (SELECT), to be able to submit that form with updates (UPDATE), and to use a different form to create new records (INSERT). Setting the "selected" attribute in zpt

I have a Python product with the values: self.languages = ['dk','uk'] self.language = 'uk' I am trying to rewrite a bunch of old proucts with these new-fangled PageTemplates. But I cannot seem to set the selected attribute correctly: <select name="language" class="selector"> <option tal:repeat="langItem here/languages" value="" tal:attributes="value langItem; selected python:langItem==here.language" tal:content="langItem">Language</option> </select> The rendered source looks like this: <select name="language" class="selector"> <option value="dk">dk</option> <option value="uk" selected="selected">uk</option> </select> This (selected="selected") doesn't work in the browsers. With VerboseSecurity installed, I get the error: *Error Type: Unauthorized* *Error Value: Your user account, Anonymous User, does not have the required permission. Problem with Zclass Property Sheet

Hello, I have developed a product with ZClasses called Newster. The newsclass contains a subclass called message that contains the messages. Everything works really swell (you can see the frontpage at www.openauth.co.uk <http://www.openauth.co.uk/> ) but I have the following problems: 1. I tried to create a Boolean property in the message class basic property sheet to tick to expire messages. However, when I create a propert_sheet_interface, the template code is generated fine except that for some reason the Boolean property doesn't work properly. I cannot unselect it once it is selected and no matter how much I scratch around in the code, I cannot resolve this issue. In the end I replaced the Boolean property with a string object and just set it from 0 to 1 when I want to expire messaged. Is this a known issue and is there a Boolean based workaround? 2. Also, how do I give my Zope product an icon in the free view? I guess I have to set this somewhere in the Zclass, but how? All help appreciated, Thanks, Pieter

Hi, I have to face a recent problem : when I restart my Zope server, I can see pages several times but after a few requests, I receive the message written in this message's subject. Of course, I'm writing my own Zope products, but never close database connection manually. Loading the given object from a little Python script (Zope.app()._p_jar['...']) gives me an "<extension class BTrees.Length.Length at 553020>". Where could this problem come from ??? I didn't make any big update on my Zope site/products before this problem occurs...
