SSL error
by Alec Munro 22 Jan '03

22 Jan '03

Hi all, I'm attempting to set up some to do secure submissions from my site to another, and to capture and reformat the data returned. I've created an external method that uses httplib.HTTPSConnection for this purpose. It wasn't working for a long time because I hadn't included the keys. Now it isn't working for some other reason, and I'm hoping you can help me figure it out. I'm currently getting this error: *Error Type: sslerror* *Error Value: SSL_CTX_use_PrivateKey_file error I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to SSL in general, so I have no idea what this means. Taking it literally it seems it may be telling me I am using the wrong key, but if I am, I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm hoping someone out there has done something like this sucessfully (made an HTTPS connection to an external server from python). Thanks, Alec Munro EOA Scientific Systems *

ReplyTo 'Zope' rather than the sender?
by Crosbie Fitch 22 Jan '03

How do I set the option for this mailing list to make the ReplyTo 'Zope' rather than the sender? I can't find it on the options page for my subscription. Every other mailing list has this set by default, so it's quite tricky trying to remember to change the addressee before hitting send.

My Undo list looks like I've installed Zope an hour ago for the first time My only hope is the file Data.fs.rpmsave below, which I hope must be the old database. Is it just a matter of doing: mv Data.fs.rpmsave Data.fs? sv1:/opt/zope/var # ls -Al total 31038 -rw------- 1 zope root 3328410 Jan 22 16:43 Data.fs -rw------- 1 zope root 75448 Jan 20 2001 Data.fs.in -rw-r--r-- 1 zope daemon 135193 Dec 16 17:18 Data.fs.index -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5 Jan 22 16:43 Data.fs.lock -rw------- 1 zope root 28171869 Jan 22 16:28 Data.fs.rpmsave -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 16843 Jan 22 16:43 Data.fs.tmp lrwxrwxrwx 1 zope root 25 Jan 15 14:09 Z2.log -> ../../../var/log/zope.log -rw-r--r-- 1 zope daemon 11 Jan 22 16:43 Z2.pid drwxr-xr-x 3 zope daemon 72 Jan 21 09:52 gadfly -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5 Jan 22 16:43 pcgi.pid srwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jan 22 16:43 pcgi.soc Jason Bush wrote: >Have you tried the 'Undo' feature in Zope. Yes it was was something like this, although the problem must have been caused by someone running Yast, and I am now well warned of the dangers of an RPM installation. Yast created a new instance of the database, backing the old one up to Data.fs.rpmsave I fixed the problem by backing the /opt/zope/var directory and then: mv Data.fs.rpmsave Data.fs and restarting Zope Thanks to all Gerhard george donnelly wrote: >[Gerhard Venter commented on 1/22/03 11:52 AM] > >>Hi >> >>We have a designer who has been trying to make our >>Zope/Plone test site look unique. I started my site on a local installation of Zope on my W/S, now have since moved it to a linux environment. It isn't hard to get running on your w/s, just getting to know how to get it running. When you install it, run the zope service and access it through our browser at http://localhost:8080/manage and you'll be off and running. To all that answered, off and on-line, Many thanks! I was hoping to find something that I could play with before I read the ZOPE book. I just wanted to see all the pieces first. OK, THE book it is. I would like to try the tutorial that comes with ZOPE. Does anyone know of a small web server for the Windows 2000 platform that works well with ZOPE. I have Apache in the office on Linux, but I would like something for the desktop. thanks, Michael

RE: [Zope] Returning and showing value of a checkbox
by Don Brooksby 22 Jan '03

22 Jan '03

I've got progress! I have been doing major head-banging testing based on the info received with this problem. I may be doing this the long way, or maybe I am just understanding what was told to me. However, Here is what I am doing to resolve this issue. Process that happens before this form pops up: 1) Admin user wants to edit an article, they are viewing a snipet of the article info, they click on the Edit button. 2) The request to the db is placed and the data is brought in to the editing form...where the problem rests. Now what I have had success with... The info populates the form based on dtml requests to grab the data from the variables in the request to the database. a) Where the checkboxes are, I test the value of "main" (the variable holding either a 1 or 0) by doing the following: <td><b>Main:</b></td> <td><input type="text" name="main" value="<dtml-var main>"> <dtml-if "main=='1'"> <input type="checkbox" name="newmain" checked> <dtml-else> <input type="checkbox" name="newmain" value="1"> </dtml-if></td> b) where the value of "main" == 1, the box is checked, if 0 the box is unchecked and if it gets checked during the Editing of the article, the value of 1 will then be written back to the proper field in the table of my db. This seems to be working and my sincere thanks to all who have helped. This is a normal programming way of testing the value of a variable, however, I think I got a bit lazy with some features and functions of Zope. Much thanks to all! BTW, for some reason, my headache is gone. :) Don On Wednesday, January 22, 2003 9:37 AM, Dylan Reinhardt wrote: At 04:07 AM 1/22/2003, Schmidt, Allen J. wrote: >"Checkboxes don't have a value attribute." ??? > >Since when? >I've been using values on checkboxes since I have been building web >forms....going on 10 years now... adding checked only determines whether it >is checked or not be default when the form loads. Ah, true enough. I had to go look it up, but you're right. Thanks for pointing out my goof. You can assign a value attribute that determines what the *inbound* value of a checked box will (should) be. A useless feature, perhaps, but one that is most surely there. The value attribute still has nothing to do with whether the box is displayed as checked or how you catch the data and stuff it in your db... which still seems to be the problem faced by the original poster. The OP was trying to figure out why his forms weren't displaying the correct "values" for the checkboxes. Either he needed to know how to check for their state coming in or how to set it going out. Ultimately, the value attribute is germane to neither question and he seemed to expect it to do stuff it simply doesn't do. My apologies for any confusion. I should keep my Pocket Reference out when I post on HTML. :-) Dylan _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )
