STX problem

How can I get structured text to leave everything in <dtml-* > alone? Otherwise I get problems of structured text rendering stuff in the dtml and it changes '' to <code></code> which then upsets dtml which can't then render what is in it. The other option is to remove the code that does <code></code> but I would prefer a better solution then that. Thanks Designing and building web applications http://webme-eng.com

A "noscript" element is not allowed in the head element. Browsers may tolerate it, but you should not knowingly create invalid markup. Why not put the redirect in the body element's onLoad event? If javascript is not enabled, nothing will happen. If it is enabled, the javascript-aware page will get loaded. <body onLoad='window.location.replace("javascript-aware-page.html")'> Cheers, Tom P

Authentication Dialog
by Dylan Reinhardt 23 Oct '02

23 Oct '02

Hi all, Anyone know how/if it is possible to suggest what shows up in the client's login/authentication dialog? I realize this is mostly handled by the browser. Even so, both Opera and IE have a field in the authentication dialog that typically has "Zope" for an entry... so this must get populated by something the server provides. Is there a good way to override the default value for this? TIA, Dylan

Is it possible to protect DTML source code
by Dirk Hoeveler 23 Oct '02

23 Oct '02

Hi, is it possible to protect the code of Zclasses or DMTL methods. For PHP there exists something like PHPguardian. Is there something like this for zope? I guess it would be difficult to implement something like it in zope, but not impossible, but I didn't find anything. Thanks, Dirk

Idea of Caching DTML Methods in Zope
by Jaroslav Lukesh 23 Oct '02

23 Oct '02

Hi all, I have idea about another caching method in Zope. I am very sorry if it exist, but I dont know that. If I have for example very expensive or manytimes called method, I cannot cache it via RAM cache manager, because it gives the same output regardless place from where are calling. For example, two methods: siteroot <dtml-var BASE1>/ localroot <dtml-in "PARENTS[3:]">../</dtml-in> (3 because I use virtual servers as zoperoot/www/domain ) So siteroot can be cached via RAM cache manager without no problems, because constructing URLs are <dtml-var siteroot>images/imege.gif output will http://www.domain.com/images/imege.gif But localroot could not be cached, because i receive bad locations: <dtml-var localroot>images/imege.gif output will ../../images/imege.gif If localroot are cached, then output of that will be same regardless of calling directory, it is computed from first access. So it is possible to do "dynamic" caching? What I mean, is store all localroot objects in context of calling direcotry (or another object). I have few hundreds of calling localroot per page and I will be hapy if it will have some solution for that. I dont want migrate to siteroot because it makes absolute URLs, not relative. I know, I could use squid and Accelerated cache manager as reverse cache for caching whole pages, but it is not wanted solution (because you cannot see immediatelly changes to pages). Many thanks for tips or implementation ;-) Regards J. Lukesh

Query on CMF.
by Paul Naveen Raj Jeyaraj 23 Oct '02

23 Oct '02

Hi, I am using Zope 2.5.1 and am using CMF site to manage the pages. With the current workflow, pages under a particular user can be viewed by all only if it's state is published. This is fine. But if the user wants to make some changes he will have to retract the item for doing so. During this time no one is able to view the page. Is it possible to make the latest version of the page available for viewing by other users? Also the edited new page should be made available after it is published. Any workflow available to implement the same? Expecting an earlier response. Thank you. Regards, Paul.

can't ftp to Zope
by Tim Wilson 23 Oct '02

23 Oct '02

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem getting Dreamweaver (and any other ftp or WebDAV client for that matter) to work with Zope. I know this has been covered before ad nauseum, but none of the solutions seem to fit what I've done. I posted briefly on this topic recently, but I've been messing with it some more and I hope I can provide a little more information. I can connect to Zope via ftp with no trouble. The problem is that I can't put any HTML-formatted files. I can transfer images with no trouble, even an MS Word file worked OK. When I try to transfer files with HTML formatting (with or without an .html extension) I apparently don't have write permission on the remote server. WebDAV puts fail similarly with a 500 internal server error. The system is running Zope 2.5.1 and python 2.1.3 (Debian). Can someone offer a clue about how to proceed here? -Tim -- Tim Wilson | Visit Sibley online: | Check out: Henry Sibley HS | http://www.isd197.org | http://www.zope.com W.
