by Michael Guerrero 15 Oct '02

All, At the end of some processing I want to redirect the user to another page using the value of an id field: If I hard code the emp_id in it works. <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('view_by_id?emp_id=1741')"> However if I try to replace the hardcoded value with a dtml-var <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('emp_id',1741)"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('view_by_id?emp_id=<dtml var emp_id>')"> I get ththe following error: Invalid integer value for emp_id. I've tried various combinations of quotes and double-quotes with no luck. Is ther another way to do this? Thanks. Mike

Re: How to use methods from OFS?
by Josef Meile 15 Oct '02

> please read: > > Zope/lib/python/Products/PythonScripts/README.txt Nice, but I think allowing modules isn't the solution. When I was a newie, I had the same question about the "eval" function, then somebody answers me that if you allowed that function, a skill user could make a malicious script which erases information of your zope server, or even he could call the function itself through the web. So, I guess that if the Zope developers didn't include a module / function is because it has some security isues. Perhaps the solution would be creating an external method that calls the routine you need. Regards, Josef.

I am unable to open a bug in the collector. The site indicates that this should be possible with the anonymous account. Is this not the case?

Zope on MacOSX?
by Skip Montanaro 15 Oct '02

15 Oct '02

I'm trying to build Zope 2.6.0b1 on MacOSX and am having some trouble. If I use Python 2.2.2 or Python 2.3a0 (aka CVS head), when executing the w_pcgi.py script I get this traceback: building 'Products.PluginIndexes.TextIndex.Splitter.ZopeSplitter.ZopeSplitter' extension error: file 'Products/PluginIndexes/TextIndex/Splitter/ZopeSplitter/src/ZopeSplitter.c' does not exist Traceback (most recent call last): File "w_pcgi.py", line 39, in ? if __name__=='__main__': main(sys.argv[0]) File "w_pcgi.py", line 37, in main import wo_pcgi; wo_pcgi.main(me) File "/Users/skip/src/Zope-2.6.0b1-src/wo_pcgi.py", line 33, in main import build_extensions File "/Users/skip/src/Zope-2.6.0b1-src/inst/build_extensions.py", line 24, in ? do('%s setup.py build_ext -i' % sys.executable) File "/Users/skip/src/Zope-2.6.0b1-src/inst/do.py", line 32, in do if i and picky: raise SystemError, i SystemError: 256 A quick foray into building 2.1.x on MacOSX ended in failure (2.1.x was released before MacOSX was available). RE: [Zope] Formatting numbers with commas

I have not seen anything dealing with euros...others may have some idea. Keep the discussions on the list - then others can benefit and also offer other suggestions and answers. Allen -----Original Message----- From: Michael Guerrero [mailto:mguerrero@tachyon.net] Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2002 12:26 PM To: Allen Subject: RE: [Zope] Formatting numbers with commas It works like a charm. Thanks. By the way, since there is a dollars-and-cents format mask, do you know if there is a euros-and-cents format mask? Thanks again. I'd like to rationalize your experience with mine and that of other list responses. I believe that your comments apply to the situation where the client makes an explicit request for a pdf document. Is my supposition correct? My case is a bit different. In my case, the clent provides a description of the document he wants via a form, and a pdf document is served, but there is no explicit request--it's just the response from submitting the form. IE appears to get confused by this, the other browsers do not. The solution appears to be to use a bit of redirection/refresh magic. The form iaction does not compute and serve the pdf, rather it generates a page that refreshes and redirects itself to a page that computes and serves the pdf, effectively arranging for the clent to request a pdf rather than sending non-html material unannounced.
