Bug in Zope?

Hello, We are doing a migration of some old data (stored in a standard format in text files) into the ZODB. We have two methods: ImportCDF is a pythonscript. It receives a filename and batchname (these terms will be explained in a moment.) It gives the file name to the second (external) function, ReadCDF. This part appears to be working. ReadCDF opens the external file puts each record into a dict. It then returns these dict/records one at a time, using yield. This function appears to be working. Import CDF then resumes control. It first takes the batchname and uses it for the id if a batch info object (a custom object that we have created). Then it loops over the records returned from ReadCDF, creating an object for each returned record. Here is the problem: We run this with one cdf (the external text file) and it works correctly. We then run it with a second cdf and it runs correctly. Then we run it with a third, and it fails with: Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access POSException in this context The function in ImportCDF that throws this exception is: # Loop through our CDF dictionary records for cdfrec in cdf: cemail = cdfrec['Contact Email'] czopeid = cdfrec['CID'] # If the customer exists, getattr it. Otherwise create it. if(not hasattr(customers,czopeid)): #print "Adding Customer Info for "+czopeid try: customers.manage_addProduct['MigrationManager'].manage_addCustomerInfo(id=czopeid) objects_created = objects_created + 1 except ZODB.POSException.ReadConflictError: continue Afterwords, the script will throw this same exception for the cdf input files for which it previously worked; i.e., the error is persistent. However, if you cut and paste the contents of ImportCDF into a new script (e.g., Import-CDF) and run it, it will work correctly until we run it on the bad CDF. After that, the error will persist in the new script. We cannot find any way in which the third (bad) CDF is different than the first two (good) CDFs. They are all the output of the same parser, and all validate as being correctly formatted. The data has no binary characters or anything, this is just an XMLish data file. Further, the function that actually deals with the file seems to have no trouble with it. This entire sequence of events is quite baffling to us, especially the fact that the error persists after it has been thrown once -- the script never functions correctly again. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. More specific information available on request. This is Zope 2.5.1, without the 6-14 hotfix (yet), running on python 2.2.0 on FreeBSD 4. Products installed: CatalogQuery, ExternalEditor, LocalFS, and the package with our custom objects (mostly based off Kube). Thanks, VanL

Exchange fortunately speaks SMTP (among other things), so sending mail from Zope to Exchange mailboxes is likely not a big issue; just point your mailhost to your exchange server's IP or o a box that can relay to your exchange server. Perhaps I'm not entirely clear on what you want to do. At the user/login level, ways of integrating with Exchange exist, including usage of LDAP as a means to create a Zope user folder that talks to any LDAP server you have set up (I think Exchange has built-in LDAP support, and you can always sync with a 3rd party LDAP solution). I guess I'm not clear on whether you want to integrate Outlook or Exchange into Zope? Is there a good example of creating a "printable page" for the CMF content. i.e. http://servername.host.com:8080/CMF/dir/index_html?pp=1 In other words... click on a link that reveals only the document content without headers or footers?

Passing of a Folder Object to a Python Script

Hello Folks, A fairly straightfoward question. I'm trying to create some scripts that allow the folder and file structure of the content to control dynamicly the content of the menus that present said content. In a directory are folders. These folders are the "Menu Headings" of the content. Beneath each "Menu Heading" are some links in a "submenu" determined by the files within the associated folder. If I call the submenu script explicitly in the correct context, it generates the correct content. However the menu items should not be hard coded so I want to pass the folder to the script which generates the submenu content. I have it all figured out except the parameter passing. I have included the relevant part of the Page Template at the bottom. The script menuWidget looks for folders in the current context. The script subMenuWidget looks for Page Templates in the current context, but needs to be modified to accept an ObjectManager object as a parameter. (the "items" object from the "menu" repetition loop) I've looked around, fidgeted, snooped, and guessed. No luck. I can't seem to call it correctly. I believe I only need to add a parameter to the script in the ZMI, and change these lines <div tal:define="submenu here/org/subMenuWidget.py" tal:omit-tag=""> (from the template) submenuitems = context.objectValues('Page Template') (from subMenuWidget.py) For completeness I will include the code of subMenuWidget, but I doubt its relevant to this semantic and syntactic question. I know, virtualizing with apache is not at one pushbutton. So try pound. It is for linux, but I have statically linked compilation on RH 5.2 (due mistake, but I dont know where I do that error). It exist emulation solution (LINE) for windows to run linux binaries. And pound can coexist with your local webserver (running at another port than 80 of course). Virtual servers works fine, you need only define it at vhm mappings of Zope. Regards JL.

TextIndexNG question

Hello zope users, Can anybody help me with the following? I've created ZCatalog. On Tab Indexes I've deleted 'PrincipiaSearchSource' TextIndex and created 'PrincipiaSearchSource' TextIndexNG with default values. After cataloging DTML Documents there are no objects (0) in 'PrincipiaSearchSource' TextIndexNG on Tab Indexes. While using 'PrincipiaSearchSource' TextIndex I see 12 objects. What am I doing wrong?
