RE: [Zope] lists, not strings in database

Thank you, Tom, for the help! This is what I did to insert into the table: <dtml-call "sqlInsertIssue(PeopleInvolved=_.string.join(PeopleInvolved,','))"> Then I displayed the results like so: <table border=0> <dtml-in expr="_.string.split(PeopleInvolved,',')"> <tr><td><dtml-var sequence-item></td></tr> </dtml-in> </table> >From this, many more options open for programming the sequence-item. And, it's all dynamic! Thanks! Greg -----Original Message----- From: Thomas B. So, what I would like is either a comma sepparated list in the column, or space separated. aperson bperson cperson ]] OK, easy enough. If "multiples" is a list of strings, you can get a comma-separated string for it like this: <dtml-var "_.string.join(multiples,',')"> You can use any separator, not just ",". You could store this string in the database. When you want to loop through all the names, you can create a list from the string like this: "_.string.split(csv_string,',')" You can use this list with dtml-in, as in <dtml-in "_.string.split(csv_string,',')">...</dtml-in> The only point you still need to handle is to make sure that your html form always returns a list (otherwise you have to check it before you feed it to a dtml-in statement). You can make this happen by adding ":list" to the name of the input element: <select name='person:list'>...</select> Cheers, Tom P _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Am I right in thinking that if a search for *.fs finds no files, then you've lost your Zope? T.

LDAPadapter does not connect to remote LDAP server
by Mitja Martini 04 Sep '02

Hi, we tried to connect a LDAPadapter to a remote LDAP server but it did not work. If we use the local LDAD server everything works ok. If we try the remote server we get an error: Log of LDAPAdapter (2) Wed 12:17: Reinitialized (9) Wed 12:17: Checking superuser (9) Wed 12:17: superuser not found in user cache (1) Wed 12:17: Unable to open connection to ldap server (9) Wed 12:17: superuser connect returned cannot find superuser (9) Wed 12:17: superuser returned no roles (9) Wed 12:17: Checking superuser (9) Wed 12:17: superuser not found in user cache (1) Wed 12:17: Unable to open connection to ldap server (9) Wed 12:17: superuser connect returned cannot find superuser (9) Wed 12:17: superuser returned no roles We tested both LDAP servers with LDAPBrowser/Editor 2.8.2 and they seem to be ok. Does anybody know where the problem might be? Our System: Solaris 2.8, Zope 2.5.1, openldap 2.0.23 (on both servers), LDAPadapter-zope 22x-1.0, Python 2.1.2, Python-ldap-2.0.0pre05 Thank you for your help. Site Navigation problem
by Nico de Boer 04 Sep '02

04 Sep '02

Hi all, I'm working on a site navigation product. For the rendering I've got some rendering methods that the site owner can customize. This way the rendering methods aren't hard coded in python. Now I've got a problem as someone removes one of these methods. Here's a snippet of code for a tree site menu: # test if a tree menu has to be generated if self.mode=='tree': # test if the current item is active if self.isactive(objectid, newcontextid): # seperate method to test for dtml rendering-method if self.methodTestOk('tree_item_active'): # call the dtml-method from python return self.NavItem(self.tree_item_active) else: # the current item is inactive # test if dtml rendering-method isn't deleted if self.methodTestOk('tree_item_link'): # call the dtml-method from python return self.NavItem(self.tree_item_link) def NavItem(self, dtmlmethod): return self.call( dtmlmethod, client=self, REQUEST=self.REQUEST) def call(self, f, *args, **kw): try: return apply(f,args, kw) except: import sys raise sys.exc_info()[0],sys.exc_info()[1],sys.exc_info()[2] def methodTestOk(self, methodname): if hasattr(self, methodname): return 1 else: return 0 This is an example of a dtml-rendering method (the current object is given as an argument to the method): <tr> <td> <a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a> </td> </tr> Maybe someone knows an other way to call dtml-methods from python. The problem with my code is that I don't get any error message if one of the methods is deleted. I get a None object back. Is it possible that methodTestOk returns the errormessage? Can someone help me with my problem? Greetz Nico

ZSQLRelayDA
by Trond Nilsen 04 Sep '02

04 Sep '02

Hey. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of ZSQLRelayDA? The site listed for the product at http://www.zope.org/Members/pointone/sqlrelay0.15 is dead, and I haven't been able to find another source of it while searching about. Alternatively, has any here had any success getting a Zope running on Linux to talk to MS SQL Server running on a Win NT / 2k machine? How to pass IPs to Zope, when using Apache?
by Ausum Studio 04 Sep '02

04 Sep '02

I'd like to use the REMOTE_ADDR key from all requests to my server, and I have Apache in front of Zope. Calling that key retrieves 127.0.0.1 as expected, given the fact Apache is currently the only one client to Zope, but this last should get to know the visitor's IP in order to perform tasks. What's the best way to do this? Ausum

RE: [Zope] TextIndexNG on Win2000
by abg＠comco-inc.com 04 Sep '02

There is no new product listed, no error message, and no new option to add a TextIndexNG index to a ZCatalog object. There is no sign that TextIndexNG has actually been recognized by Zope. -----Original Message----- From: zope-admin(a)zope.org [mailto:zope-admin@zope.org]On Behalf Of Andreas Jung Sent: Tuesday, September 03, 2002 11:18 AM To: Aaron Gillette; zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] TextIndexNG on Win2000 ----- Original Message ----- From: <abg(a)comco-inc.com> To: <zope(a)zope.org> Sent: Tuesday, September 03, 2002 18:21 Subject: [Zope] TextIndexNG on Win2000 > Hi All, > > Has anyone had any luck getting TextIndexNG > (http://www.zope.org/Members/ajung/TextIndexNG/) working on Win2000? hidden form fields-based identification
by Mario Bianchi 04 Sep '02

04 Sep '02

Hallo there, I need to provide my site the feature of logged-in users, i.e.I would like to use hidden form fields storing some sort of identifier so to recognize a remote user after he has first logged in. This to avoid using the default HTTP authentication, which sends username and password in the clear for every request. I know CMF does this using cookies, does anybody know any tools/products/anything using hidden form fields for this purpose? Thanks to all. Cheers, Mario. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
