Dynamic content in ZPT

Hi all I have a form in ZPT which calls a python script which looks up a database to generate some data. Now, the data needs to appear in the same page in a table if the submit button is used. The problem here is to generate the <form method="post" action="GetProjectWiseDataPython"> further down the selection is made as <select name="ProjectName"> <option tal:repeat="options here/GetProjectsPython" tal:content="options/ProjectName">name</option> </select> </form> This is passed to GetProjectWiseDataPython. At the end of the page I need to put a condition "if data obtained from script" show the data obtained from GetProjectWiseDataPython Now, As I understand I need to tal:define="GotData here/GetProjectWiseDataPython" and later tal:content="GotData/Somedata" This is the error message I get while loading the page. *Error Type: TALESError * *Error Value: exceptions.AttributeError on ProjectName in "standard:'here/GetProjectWiseDataPython'", at line 52, column 1* This is not seen when I do not attempt to display the data. What is the way out ? TIA Chetan

Linux vs. UNIX vs. BSD
by Peter Bengtsson 20 Aug '02

If I get a lot of good comments on this I'll make it a little how to on zope.org What *nix is best to use with Zope? For dev and desktop I personally prefer Mandrake, but what I like becomes irrelevant when it's time to set up a serious server for production use. What matters then is: - performance - configurability - ease-of-use and lack of hacks - integration with RDBMS - backup possibilities - ZEO (load balancing and caching). Does anybody have any real experience of production deployment with various *nix'es. Which ones are better than other and which ones to avoid. The "ease-of-use and lack of hacks" is important to me since I'm just an experienced *nix user. Far from expert. Thank you, Peter --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Zope Binary Release Changes for Zope 2.6
by Matthew T. Kromer 20 Aug '02

20 Aug '02

Zope is currently released in three binary formats: Windows - i386 Solaris 2.6 - SPARC Linux RH 5.2 - i386 All binary releases come with python 2.1.3, built without large file support. We are proposing to change the binary distributions to newer releases, at least on the Solaris and Linux platforms. The new Solaris binary would be Solaris 2.8. The new Linux binary would be RedHat 7.2 based (i.e. glibc 2.1). It is very likely that the supplied Pythons would be built with large file support *enabled* for these platform, unless some unforseen compatibility issue arose. If there are requirements for keeping the binary distributions based on the older software, we need to understand these requirements. Please follow up with this thread on the zope-dev(a)zope.org list if you wish to participate. -- Matt Kromer Zope Corporation http://www.zope.com/

proxypass and squishdot
by Ed Colmar 20 Aug '02

20 Aug '02

Hey all.. I've finally got proxypass happening, and I'm running into a little snag with my existing squishdot sites... Everywhere on the site the proxypass rules work great, but in squishdot it likes to put in two slashes, like so: http://www.starrave.org//discussion/1029622610/index_html Anyone seen this before... I probably just did something dumb... =( here are my proxy rules: ProxyPass / http://127.0.0.1:8080/starrave/ ProxyPassReverse / http://127.0.0.1:8080/starrave/ ProxyPass /p_ http://127.0.0.1:8080/p_ ProxyPass /misc_ http://127.0.0.1:8080/misc_ and for my siteroot I have: Title: starrave Base: http://www.starrave.org path: / Is this correct?
