Is it possible for VHM to screw up my acquisition? I've got a python script called kt_trans. It access a TinyTable from a directory above itself, through a PortableHole. This all works fine when directly accessed, and works under one VHM test setup. But the production system can't find the TinyTable when acccessed via the proxy feeding to VHM. I know that's confusing, so let me further muddy things up by give you details. I have a set up like this /clients/one/trans_table /clients/one/reports -> portable hole to /reports /clients/two/trans_table /clients/two/reports -> portable hole to /reports /reports/kt_trans -> python script that accesses context.trans_table The use of context.trans_table works in kt_trans when I access it via: /clients/one/reports/kt_trans It will access client one's trans_table in this case. All well and good and it works fine when directly accessed. However, when accessed via an apache proxy feeding VHM style URLs, I can't access my trans_tables. Other zope objects are accessable without a hitch. Most annoying of all, this only seems to happen under production which means I've got to fight with firewalls and SSL. My attempts to replicate the problem have not been successful. Help! I need a clue stick!

compacting growing database

Hi - I'm managing a Zope installation where my documents are imported from a script I wrote. Every time I run the script and it updates the documents, the database gets larger and larger, which I understand. Unfortunately, when I go to compact the database, it actually expands by about 5 Mb. I'm using Zope Version (Zope 2.5.1 (source release, python 2.1, linux2), python 2.1.1, linux2) Python Version 2.1.1 (#1, Jun 10 2002, 11:11:21) [GCC 3.1] Please help, my database is up to 250 Megs, and I only have about 300 html documents in it! dates in dtml

Hi I'm trying to convert a date that's extracted from a database into a date accepted by zope. Then I'm setting this in a variable using REQUEST.set so I can compare it to other dates. I always get errors with this and it's not clear how I should be doing it. I resorted to using dtml-let in order to split things up a bit, and avoid <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('first_date', oldest(item=_.DateTime(_.getitem('START_TIME')).aCommon(), old=_.getitem('START_TIME'))"> Which is really long and hard to understand. Is there any documentation where anyone explains how to use _. functions within dtml, or how zope can compare dates? zmysqlda error on install -

I have just installed zope-zmysqlda-2.0.8 with mysql version mysql-client-3.23.51 mysql seems to work fine. Is it possible to have a python script that does this: response = context.REQUEST.RESPONSE if someCondition: response.expiresCookie('mySitesCookie', path='/') return response.redirect('aPageTemplate') The cookie is not getting removed when someCondition is true. Mark

If I install Zope 2.5.1 in Linux, will it automatically install the correct python-interpreter that support large file ?? Anyway, can I say that there is no way to solve this 2GB problem in Windows. conversion in dtml-methods

We have a formular with a checkbox... The result of the checkbox is a list of strings. In the following dtml-method (action) the method reads any string of the list and has to initiate read instructions to a mysql database table with this values but converted to integer... zope error...value error invalid literal for int(): 17 ...17 was the string which has to be converted ??? where is a good dtml documentation ...we have 2 books for zope, but the dtml parts are not good... Hello, I've some scripts to automatically generate a navigation list, that used to work with Zope 2.1.6. eg: <dtml-in "objectItems(['Folder'])"> <dtml-var title_or_id> </dtml-in> In Zope 2.5, this gives an error for non-authenticated users like "you are not authorized to view the property title".
