This does not work with Postgresql out of the box. Can it be configured for Postgresql? Start a SQL Input Wizard Warning: There are no database connections. You need to add a Zope database connection in this folder (or in a folder above) before you can use this wizard. By now, the wizard just recognizes MySQL connections.

SQLFile??
by Page Page 28 Jun '02

28 Jun '02

Gang, isn't there something like SQLFile? I'd like to collect all SQL-queries in one or more files and incorporate them into a product with a call like this: SQLFile(myVeryFineInstance, 'myVeryFineQueries') and /myVeryFineInstance/ will be endowed with every query in the file as a member-function. I got two hits from searching for /SQLFile/ on Zope.org, but there is no software involved with them, or so it seems. Miklos Nemeths /SQLSession/ uses a clever and fairly practical technology to implement an Ersatz-'SQLFile'. The disadvantage of his approach is that interactive ad-hoc-changes to the queries for debugging have to be duplicated in the .py-files after debugging, so an SQLFile would be more handy. So: Is there an SQLFile to be found under a less obvious name? Regards PAGE ______________________________________________________________________ Do you want a free e-mail for life ? Zope hosting and support vendors
by Phil Glaser 28 Jun '02

28 Jun '02

Hi, I'm developing a content management sytem for a large (8,000 user) intranet. My client will be building on additional applications as the intranet evolves. I am looking for a hosting solution that can provide backup and recovery, server configuration, and performance optimization (to inlcude potentially distributing the application over multiple boxes). I found a number of providers on zope.org (http://www.zope.org/Resources/ZSP) that specialize in hosting (as opposed to companies that focus primarily on development and provide hosting as an additional service). They are: New Information Paradigms (http://www.nipltd.net/) IMeme (http://imeme.net) and Bay Mountain (http://www.baymountain.com/services/managedHosting) An additional requirement is 24x7 help desk support for end-users. The support provider would need to learn and become comfortable with the specific application I am developing as well as other apps that would be added in the future. The only one that seemed to fit this description is http://www.connexusinc.com/Services/services.html. I'm wondering whether anyone can point me in the direction of additional candidates for this evaluation, or if anyone has had experience with any of these vendors. Many thanks! ZCatalog textindex question
by Thierry Florac 28 Jun '02

28 Jun '02

Hi... I've created a new ZCatalog with a TextIndex and a TextIndexNG (as well as several FieldIndexes). My objects are cataloged and uncataloged programatically throught "catalog.catalog_object" and "catalog.uncatalog_object" methods. My problem is simple : after several deletions, I only have 5 objects referenced in the catalog, but TextIndex and TextIndexNG always say that 11 objects are referenced. Is it normal ?? Hi all If I want to migrate what do I have to look out for? Especially concerning the Searchengine and new/updated Objects? I suppose that by copying only the Data.fs I won't get it up. Oliver Erlewein

Using zope as something more than just dynamic webpages
by alwyn＠smart.com.ph 28 Jun '02

28 Jun '02

Hi, How suited is Zope as an application server for tasks you would do in JBoss if you were using Java? I'm thinking e.g. like a message routing engine having persistent connections to different external systems, routing objects that know their state and routed by Zope according to the state. by Martin Gebert 28 Jun '02

28 Jun '02

Hi! Just getting to know Zope, so excuse me for any boring questions... Is there an inheritance tree doc for ZClasses/Zope or an alternative API doc except for the ones in online help and ZopeBook? And why is there no <!DOCTYPE> tag in the standard_html_header? Thanks for any informations! Martin

List, I'm trying to set the src attribute of the img tag to the url of a cgi script, including the query string. When returning this value from python, the ampersands in the query string get substituted into & entities. Is there a way to turn this off? (Please reply to all, since I'm not on this list) -- Alex

Attribute error __call__
by Marie Robichon 28 Jun '02

28 Jun '02

hi everyone, I am working on a treemenu based on Mike Renfro's 'new generation sitemap' and have modified slightly the scripts to do some extra filtering of the objects before they are added to the treemenu. In the script that finds child folders I have added a call to a script onsiteCheck that checks whether the request comes from onsite or from internet and if it has certain attribute or property, this works fine (see below) ## Script (Python) "list_child_folders" ## # Find child folders of the current without a sitemap property results=[] ids=[] for object in context.REQUEST.PARENTS[0].objectIds(['Folder', 'Page Container']): item=getattr(context, object) if item.onsiteCheck()=="yes": ids.append(object) for id in ids: object=getattr(context, id) if hasattr(object.aq_explicit, 'siteMap'): results.append(object) return results However when I try to do the same in the list_sibling_folders, I get an AttributeError __call__ File /zope/Zope-2.5.0-solaris-2.6-sparc/lib/python/Products/PythonScripts/PythonScript.py, line 302, in _exec (Object: onsiteCheck) (Info: ({'script': <PythonScript instance at 16ed4d8>, 'context': <Folder instance at 1c4f7a0>, 'container': <Folder instance at 108f478>, 'traverse_subpath': []}, (), {}, None)) File Script (Python), line 7, in onsiteCheck Here is the list_sibling_folders script # Find sibling folders within the current folder with a sitemap property results=[] ids2=[] if len(context.REQUEST.PARENTS)>1: for object in context.REQUEST.PARENTS[1].objectIds(['Folder', 'Page Container']): item=getattr(context, object) if item.onsiteCheck()=="yes": ids2.append(object) for id in ids2: object=getattr(context, id) if hasattr(object.aq_explicit, 'siteMap'): results.append(object) return results and here is the onsiteCheck script (not very well written, but still....) """ Script used for the 'new generation sitemap': checks each item of the top, parent, child and sibling scripts for publishOffsite properties or attributes (called in these scripts) MR 27/6/02 """ if context.Location() != 'internet': return "yes" elif context.meta_type=='Folder': if (context.hasProperty('publishOffsite') and (context.getProperty('publishOffsite')=="on")): return "yes" elif context.meta_type=='Page Container': if (hasattr(context, 'publishOffsite') and (getattr(context, 'publishOffsite')=="on")): return "yes" Can anyone help please? RE: [Zope] Different stylesheet for different browsers
by Michael Fox 28 Jun '02

Hi Thomas, http://www.zope.org/Members/svenasse/UserSniffer Michael -----Original Message----- From: zope-admin(a)zope.org [mailto:zope-admin@zope.org]On Behalf Of Thomas Weholt Sent: Thursday, 27 June 2002 6:33 PM To: 'zope(a)zope.org' Subject: [Zope] Different stylesheet for different browsers Hi, How can I use one stylesheet for Netscape and older browsers and another for Mozilla, IE, Opera etc ? Is there an easy way to detect browser type and use a specified stylesheet for that browser? Preferrably not Zope specific, but perhaps javascript or CSS, I don't care. As long as its cross-browser it's ok.
