Hi, I have a custom product that requires a cookie crumbler instance in its parent folder to operate. What do I have to do to be able to add cookie crumbler programmatically to a folder when I do an Add->MyProduct in that given folder?? Authentication

How does one authenticate a user without going through an BASIC Authentication challenge screen? What I would like to do is this: I have another server that has already authenticated the individual making the request. If the request comes to Zope from that machine, I have a high degree of confidence that the indvidual in question is who they say they are.... I can pass the proper information about the user along - if I knew what/how to pass..... Is there some easy way to accomplish this? What I need to know is how does Zope recognize the information being sent it, and then assign the proper roles for said individual without forcing another login? I've looked at cookies, authentication headers, certs, etc - but I don't seem to understand what Zope does with this information when it receives it. Can anyone tell me what script Zope runs to set up the roles or how I might set them myself? TIA WPH

Hi Sean You are correct that you are inside the speech marks (""), you have to talk python rather than DTML. Zope Sessions ques

Can anybody tell me how to do this CST stuff in Zope Sessions : (sessiondatamgr is a CST data manager) data = sessiondatamgr.getSessionData() data.invalidate() sessiondatamgr.flushTokenCookie() I tried the following: data = session_data_manager.getSessionData() data.invalidate() bid = session_data_manager.getBrowserIdManager() bid.flushBrowserIdCookie() but it doesnt do the thing ie kill a session. also whats the Zope Session equivalent of isTokenNew() in CST?? finally any other docs regarding Zope Sessions other than the Zope Book and shopping cart example because they are extremely simple cases, and didnt help me at all in converting my stuff from CST to Zope Sessions. zope ftp & firewall setup

hi; I'm wondering if anyone has experience setting up iptables for Zope FTP access. I need to add this service to my machine, but am not sure what an appropriate set of rules would be. This is what I have so far: # Zope FTP (port 8021) # allow incoming tcp requests to port 8021 /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -i $OUTSIDEIF -p tcp \ --source $ANYWHERE --source-port $UNPRIVILEGED \ --destination $OUTSIDEIP --destination-port 8021 \ -j ACCEPT # allow outgoing tcp packets from 8021 /sbin/iptables -A OUTPUT -o $OUTSIDEIF -p tcp \ --source $OUTSIDEIP 8021 --destination $ANYWHERE --destination-port $UNPRIVILEGED \ -j ACCEPT Davis

Form OPTION and Display of SELECTED Value

I have the following code to display options, one of which has already been selected: <input type="hidden" name="categories" size="35" value="Feature Bytes Faculty Students Research Alumni Giving"> <SELECT name="category"> <dtml-in categories> <dtml-if "sequence-item==category"> <OPTION value="<dtml-var sequence-item>" selected><dtml-var sequence-item></OPTION> <dtml-else> <OPTION value="<dtml-var sequence-item>"><dtml-var sequence-item></OPTION> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> </SELECT> This should display a list of the categories, with the correct one selected. This does not work however thanks to a NameError. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the correct code? - Alex

Does LocalFS support WEBDAV?

Hi, All. I added a LocalFS to my zope and can browse it fine within ZMI. But cadaver says it's not WEBDAV enabled. It's also not presented as a collection. Does LocalFS support WEBDAV? thanks -Kevin

External script question

I have an external script that runs fine when I invoke it from the shell as user "zope". However, when I try and run this script from the "Test" tab within the ZMI, it fails. Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution for this? Thanks, Kevin
