Problems with GET method
by Nico de Boer 24 Jun '02

24 Jun '02

Hi, I'm working on a ZClass for Trainings. The visitors of the site have to be able to fill in a form online to join a training. At top of the form there is first shown some information about the training. I want to show this info with the GET method of a hyperlink. Like this: <a href="/form/main?<dtml-var PATH_INFO>" methods="GET">Online sign-up</a> The following thing to do is split the PATH_INFO variable and join it with dots: <dtml-let splitpath="_.string.split(QUERY_STRING,'/')" training="_.string.join(splitpath[1:],'.')"> Then I want to get the attributes of the training with the dtml-with tag: <dtml-with "training"> <table cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%"> <tr><td>Institute:</td><td><dtml-var institute></td></tr> <tr><td>Location:</td><td><dtml-var location></td></tr> <tr><td>Title training:</td><td><dtml-var title></td></tr> <tr><td>Start date:</td><td><dtml-var date_start></td></tr> <tr><td>Stop date:</td><td><dtml-var date_stop></td></tr> </table> </dtml-with> </dtml-let> Institute, location etc are attributes of the ZClass Training. The 'with' tag doesn't work; I get KeyErrors. Can somebody help me? Greetz Nico

ASP and ZOPE
by Marco Catunda 24 Jun '02

24 Jun '02

Hello, Is there any solution for legacy code of ASP in Zope Template? I was thinking in a Zope product to make something like a proxy from ASP pages to Zope Template? This product will make a call to IIS ASP Server and parse HTML code in order to adapt it to Zope Template. It is only an ideia. I don't know if it will run very well. -- Marco Catunda

no properties tab for portal_skins
by Bryan C. Andregg 24 Jun '02

24 Jun '02

I'm starting to use CMF 1.2 and I've created a new directory in the portal_skins tool. I'd like to make this skin available to users and my understanding is that I need to add this directory name to the list of skins in the Properties tab of portal_skins. Unfortunately, portal_skins doesn't show a properties tab even as administrator. Ideas? -- Bryan C. Re: [Zope] Logwatch problem

Thanks.... my SA fixed my thinking... needed to run full path to python 2.x instead of using environment. Howard Hansen <zope(a)halfmagic.com> on 06/24/2002 12:41:51 PM To: Jens Vagelpohl <jens(a)zope.com>, Eric N. Dunn/USA/BAC@BankofAmerica cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] Logwatch problem Jens is right. I'm using syntax that works only with Python 2+ there. Since you use Zope 2.5, you've got Python 2.1 installed on your server. You could use the command "whereis python2" to find a path to that version. On my Debian Woody box, I can invoke 2.1 directly through /usr/bin/python2.1. So, to run Logwatch, you can use: /usr/bin/python2.1 ./logwatch.py -m curses -l /local/zope/var/Z2.log -u 60 -n 500 Have fun with Logwatch! Howard Hansen http://howardsmusings.com P.S. You don't need to make any changes to the code to use a different log file. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jens Vagelpohl" <jens(a)zope.com> To: <eric.n.dunn(a)bankofamerica.com> Cc: <zope(a)halfmagic.com>; <zope(a)zope.org> Sent: Monday, June 24, 2002 5:54 AM Subject: Re: [Zope] (no subject) > you are using the wrong python version it seems. you are trying to run a > program written for python2.x on python 1.x > > jens > > > On Monday, June 24, 2002, at 08:29 , eric.n.dunn(a)bankofamerica.com wrote: > > > > > > > I tried > > Logwatch 0.9.2 on Debian/Zope 2.5 > > > > Changed lines: > > 481,540,546 > > for my Z2.log file location "/local/zope/var/Z2.log" > > > > Received the following error after running: > > python ./logwatch.py -m curses -l /local/zope/var/Z2.log -u 60 -n 500 > > > > File "./logwatch.py", line 146 > > self.results[self.item[tupleindex]] += 1 > > ^ > > SyntaxError: invalid syntax > > > > *************************** > > (See attached file: logwatch.py) > > > > Eric Dunn > > _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Zope services in the UK
by Elliot Smith 24 Jun '02

24 Jun '02

Hello all, I wasn't really sure where to post this question, so settled for the most generic list. I apologise if this is off-topic. I work for the University of Birmingham and my team is interested in the potential of Zope as a platform for certain types of site we routinely create (principally those requiring simple content-management-type solutions). However, we would probably need some training and initial consultation to help us decide how to manage the implementation. So, my question: does anyone on this list belong to a Zope support services organisation within the UK, who would be willing to spend half a day talking through our requirements? Or is there anyone out there with recommendations about agencies to contact, or experience of support from such an agency? Anyone with experience of using Zope (supported or not) within a HE environment? Any hints would be useful. Thanks in advance. Re: [Zope] redirect to a renamed folder
by Gary Poster 24 Jun '02

24 Jun '02

This probably involves too much unneeded functionality for you, but my VirtualHostFolder has some nice redirect functionality. Per host definitions, redirect done before the ZODB is even traversed, nice regex capabilities for the redirect, and so on. http://www.zope.org/Members/poster/VHF requires the OrderedFolder, which itself may need the international language support package in order to properly display button text. I doubt that helps, but just in case... :-) Gary

RE: [Zope] timeout on external methods?
by Granzow, Doug (NCI) 24 Jun '02

Yup, it was Apache. I changed the timeout in Apache and now everything is happy. Sorry for not thinking to mention Apache originally. Thanks for your help! ZPT instead of DTML in products - how?
by John Schinnerer 24 Jun '02

24 Jun '02

Aloha, I'm crawling up the zope/python products learning curve...if I want to use ZPT instead of DTML for web interfaces (like index_html, manage_addForm, etc.), how do I specify that? For DTML I find tutorials and howtos showing this sort of thing: from Globals import DTMLFile index_html = DTMLFile('www/index_html', globals()) manage_addForm = DTMLFile('manage_addForm', globals()) ..what is the equivalent of the above for ZPT files instead of DTML files? thanks, John S. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
