Zope/system/Web file relations

I'm gradually becoming familiar with Zope and increasingly astounded. It's capabilities are breathtaking! One important thing I do not yet understand is the relation of Zope's internal folder and file structure to that of the system on which it resides and to Web URLs. For example, to what does http://localhost:8080/ correspond on the hard drive? \Zope\bin? Perhaps related to this is the question of how I get outside the Zope management interface - i.e., if I have a small application built, how do I access it directly from a blank browser, rather than through the management interface? If this is anywhere covered in the documentation (which I am working on but have not yet completed), I would be quite satisfied with a pointer to where it is explained. Thank you.

rewriter product

Hi, I would like to use this product in my site but I cannot seem to get it to work: it is not clear to me the difference between the ' rewriter ' the ' rewriter folder' and the 'rewriter item' and when I type in a URL to test redirection I just get the default Zope index_html page. Hello, I try to write a Zope-Product and I always get following Error: Error Type: UnpickleableError Error Value: Cannot pickle objects The problem is the following line in the __init__ method of the class: self.menuHeader = HTML('<table>',globals()) I thought it should be possible as the class HTML inherits from Persistent or is it impossible to include objects in the first place. space in product name

The error message in the subject appears in Zope stupid_log_file after upgrade from Zope 2.4.4 to Zope 2.5.1. This is the full text of the error message: 2002-06-23T12:09:55 ERROR(200) KeywordIndex unindex_object could not remove documentId -928076309 from index keywords. This should not happen. Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/Zope-orl-new/lib/python/Products/PluginIndexes/common/UnIndex.py, line 168, in removeForwardIndexEntry (Object: keywords) KeyError: -928076309 Is this happening because the catalogs were exported from Zope 2.4.4 and imported to Zope 2.5.1 (along with all other objects)? -- Milos Prudek

See the documentation that came with your router. I can try DMZ. Thanks. I would like a better understanding of why even though I've assiend 8080 to zope I don't see zope from the outside at all. It should just be a simple web port, so I don't get it. So the main problem right now is that I don't see zope at all. I've assigned the port 8080 in the router, and can see it behind the firewall when I use a different machine, but can't access zope from outside. thanks, Robert
