Hi all, I have a situation where I need to be able to handle a URL like http://www.xxx.com:8080/<arg> where <arg> is somehow trapped by a python script. I know this type of thing can be done with a ZSQL method to pass in a single argument, but I am not aware of how to do this otherwise. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks, Kevin

I have installed zope on my computer(os:windows 2k).when I open http://localhost:8080/manage with IE,I can see the zope management interface.But I can't find how to add a object to my site. I have created a webmaster as manager, and login with this username, but no help. who can tell me how to do? I am working on a Zope application and I am thinking it is time to start using versions. My first attempt ran into some interesting problems and I was hoping that someone could help me out here. - How do I point a second browser at the version I am working with? - How do I point my external editor at the version I am working with? hi all For our intranet I'm going to improve the file upload. In the past, the workers had to upload their files via the ZMI. They had to add some properties (like author, keyword, etc.). Afterwards some dtml-methods listed the content of the directories by mapping the properties of the documents. I now want to create a html-form which help the people to upload their files. In this form they have to insert the properties and after pressing the submit button, the file should be uploaded into Zope. I'm sure this was done by other users before, but I didn't find something. Any good ideas or code out there? regards sim

Problems decoding MIME parts with CMFMail script "addtoMailFolder_unpack_part"

I am using CMFMail to bring email into Zope Members accounts (using CMF 1.2, and QMail). Everything works great if I just send ONLY plain text messages, put if I send multipart/mixed messages CMFMail chokes and I get a error (in my QMail error logs) that basically says "Problem Connecting to server EOF when reading a line." I tracked it down to this fairly standard MIME decoder "addtoMailFolder_unpack_part " (shown below) which is being called by the main script. It is choking is when gets to the mimetools.copyliteral(file,outfile) or mimetools.decode(file,outfile,encoding) at the bottom of the script --- >> see code below. I tried testing for specific and general exceptions, but none where thrown (at least that I could catch). I commented out the offending mimetool code and printed the file to check the results ---- they look just fine. Does anyone have ANY suggestions. I'm not really sure what to do next (and I really need to be able to get to the decoded mime parts). The minidom won't quite do what I need. This particular project is a web-hosted XML editor, really a development front-end for another system. The ParsedXML product holds and manages the corpus of the material being edited... Now that I have a semi-working alpha-release it may be time to rethink the system and redesign for performance and simplicity. ParsedXM drags along a lot of mechanism that I do not need. In fact, my experience as been that XML and the DOM is not a great internal representation--better to parse the XML into a more maleable data structure, do what needs to be done, and reconstruct. accessing users by role

I have an application with many user-defined security roles. I'd like to display a drop down with users that have a certain role. Is there an easy way to "get a list of users with role X"? >From what I can tell you can only start with a user and see what roles they have. That would be a lot of work to build this dropdown. I'm looking for a quicker way. any ideas? thanks! -Kevin

Hi! Sorry if this is a newbie question but I really have tried for several hours now and didn't manage the problem ... I'm trying to manage the following problem: I'd like to upload Files I read by the following Command: imagefile=intro_image[1].read() First Problem: Uploading it as a string causes SQL operational Errors. So I decided to encode the whole thing base64 Iwrote a little python script that reads the data: import base64 print base64.decodestring(datei) return printed and called it in the PageTemplate (ZPT) like this: <span tal:repeat="item python:container.select_beschreibung_image_aus_pfad(pfad=str(here.loc))"> <img src="./intro_image" align="right" tal:replace="python: here.intro_image(item.intro_image)"> What I got was exactly the string which started with GIF89a and so on and NOT the Image. Do I have to define a Content-Type or something like that? Any ideas? Thanks a lot! Philipp Giere

I have this Folder Structure CPM |-ALLCHANNELS |-PORTALFOLDER |-REFPORTALFOLDER I am trying to copy all the channels contained in the portals and refportals folders and their subfolder into the allchannels folder. method map?

Hi all, I'm (still :) trying to create a generic form validator, which has certain types of tests built in (not blank, valid email, valid date, numeric), and which accepts metadata from hidden form inputs - which inputs must match which criteria, so the form describes itself to the handler. This bit is fine. But what I'd also like is to be able to tell it is which methods to call if it fails and passes the checks. Obviously I wouldn't try to accept a form argument and just run it. But what I would like is some way of implementing a safe point-to-point map, i.e. from this method it is safe to go to these ones, and then calling that method by using its name read from, e.g. a property sheet. Like a reference in Perl (if I'm allowed to say that here ;) How would the python syntax work to call something by reference like this? ____________ Ben Avery YouthNet UK
